Asian American Hip Hop artist Rook aka Rookadamus aka Cyril Kim has recently been arrested and is in being held at a prison in Colorado.
Rook is an incredibly talented emcee that released a stellar mixtape last year entitled “Hell is Empty and All the Devils are Here”. aTunes wishes him and everyone close to him the best in this time of misfortune.
I can’t be certain as to what happened but after doing a little digging I found some reports about a drug ring bust that may be related.
I’ll let you draw your own conclusions, but regardless Rook’s information has been released so here is how you can show your support:
Just wanted to let everyone know that I am still experiencing some internet connectivity problems at home so updates may be a little more few and far between.
My apologies.

Korean mega star Bi (Rain) was recently interviewed about his upcoming US film debut Ninja Assassin.
Only problem was his answers were completely incoherent and barely relevant at best.
I’m not going to hate on him for not being fluent in English, only for the fact that he didn’t utilize the translator standing RIGHT NEXT to him. On the plus side, his accent isnt so bad.

Asian American film director Todd Angkasuwan was recently interviewed by HipHopDX.com.
Todd used to be a news reported but gave it up to move into music video and film directing. He has directed videos for several up and coming asian american artists including Roscoe Umali, Rook, Jin, Chan, and the Far East Movement. He has also worked for well established artists such as RZA, KRS-One, DMX, and Styles P.
My apologies for the lack of updates. I’ve been having some problems with the internet.
In the mean time, enjoy this clip of Filipino American Hip Hop artist Roscoe Umali on one of his many visits to the world famous Wake Up Show.
The dude is pure skill.
I imagine many of you may already know this, but for those who dont…
Asian American actor Sung Kang had a starring role in a music video for one of Korea’s biggest KPOP groups at the time.
In the year 2000, g.o.d. released their third album with the highly successful single 거짓말 (lies). The video was shot in the states and featured Sung Kang as the main character.
Sung Kang would later go on to star in the critically acclaimed independent film Better Luck Tomorrow and more recently, The Fast and The Furious: Tokyo Drift.
In fact Sung Kang has recently appeared in at least two other music videos for the Far East Movement for their singles Round Round and Satisfaction.
It’s always fun to see how some actors break their way into the business.
Anyone remember this? Although not nearly as memorable as William Hung from an earlier season, Paul Ahn still (embarassingly) represented his culture.
Gotta love his use of Seo Taiji for the American Idol. But I’m 99% sure he is just a goofball and doing it as one big joke… at least I hope so.
On second thought, this may just be a Best Ever.

Uhm Jung Hwa, one of Korea’s first successful actress turned pop singer turned actress, has recently come back with her new single Disco featuring Big Bang’s TOP. My initial thoughts when reading about the collaboration on paper was, “OK Uhm Jung Hwa just wants a popular feature so she chose someone from Big Bang”. However, after watching the video my first thought was “Wow, could she be any more of a cougar?” Given it wasn’t too intense, but she was getting kind of cozy with somone nearly 20 years her junior.
Note: UJH was born in 1969, TOP in 1987.
More power to her I guess.
More thoughts and the video after the jump.

The Movement Crew, Korea’s elite Hip-Hop collection has finally released the fourth version of their respected series of collaborations. This one seemed to pass under the radar as it was released on Bizzy’s debut album. Bizzy is one of the newer members of the movement crew and hasn’t fully established himself beyond his usual role as Tiger JK’s hypeman/DJ Shine replacement so its really no surprise this track hasn’t received more recognition.
This fourth release includes: Sean2Slow, Mithra Jin (Epik High), Eun Jin Won, Tiger JK, Bizzy, Double K, Dok2, Bobby Kim (Buga Kingz), Tasha, Choiza(Dynamic Duo), Gary (LeeSsang), Tablo (Epik High), Juvie Train (Buga Kingz), Gan-D (Buga Kingz), TopBob(TBNY), Yankie (TBNY), Gaeko (Dynamic Duo)
MP3′s and more after the jump!
