Utada Hikaru video update courtesy of Ningin

Ningin has been provided a short video update by Utada’s record label, Island Def Jam. Since I can’t embed their video here, make sure you head on over to their site and check it out!

Hopefully her buzz will continue to grow as her March 24th US album release approaches. Also, I hope the rest of the album will be as strong as her first single “Come Back to Me”.

Plus they are sponsoring an autographed album give away so make sure you check that out too!

Tantrum & Dumbfoundead interviewed by AR

Remember the heated battle between dumbfoundead and tantrum? AR sat them both down and got to discuss everything in detail. The interview offers great context around theses artists and the battles.

Here’s an interesting excerpt:

Were the lines you used against each other all off the top of the head?

Dumbfoundead:  some of the lines were freestyle but most of it was written. I mean I can freestyle my ass off and so can tantrum, its just that these types of battles almost all cats come prepared and why wouldn’t you?

Tantrum: Noooo. Grindtime is specifically structured so that you HAVE to prepare for your opponent. I mean they usually let you know at least a month in advance who you’re facing to practically give you time to think of material. Although there is no official rule that restricts freestyling, you would be a fool to neglect proper preparation for a top notch opponent such as Dumbfoundead. However, like I said they don’t say that you CAN’T freestyle so if you have time during your round to slip in some freestyle rebuttals or whatever, then by all means do so. As for my battle, it was supposed to happen a lot earlier that day but Dumbfound was driving up from LA to the bay on that very morning and had to take a 3 hour detour due to the fires. So I came up with something on the spot to bring up his tardiness and incorporated it into my 3rd verse.

Peep the rest, it’s a great read.

Unofficial S.E.S. reunion!

OK, so the title is a bit misleading but any SES fanboy like me from the 90′s has to get excited when you see the above image.

They were recently spotted having dinner together and it makes me nostalgic for the old (golden) days of KPOP. When there wasnt quite as much talent but it was all packaged so well and was so entertaining.

I know its not exactly hugely noteworthy but I can’t help myself suckas.

Let’s reminisce together after the break!

aTunes news: Worst Ever Blogger

So, I am quite possibly the worst blogger ever. My fault for such delay inbetween entries lately. I guess I’m no good at juggling multiple projects at once.

So before I start hemorrhaging readers let me just say updates are coming! Some pretty good ones too.

And while we are on the topic of this blog, how do you think we can improve the site? What do you think aTunes needs more or less of? Comment away!

Park Joon Hyung’s Dragonball movie poster released

Source: Popseoul

As the April 8th release date for Dragonball Evolution quickly approaches, promotional material is beginning to find it’s way to the public.

Here is the Korean poster art featuring ex KPOP artist Joon Hyung Park. Even though I have a feeling the movie is going to be terrible I wish Joon Park the best.

note: We previously reported that JPOP artist Ayumi Hamasaki will be singing the theme song.

Jazmin interviewed by AR

Aznraps has just posted an interview of Jazmin. They seem like a great, fun-loving group of girls and I wish I could catch their act at Kollaboration 9.

Here’s an excerpt from the interview, but make sure you check out the rest!

How important is it to Jazmin to reach out to an Asian-American audience? What kind of example do you hope to set for young girls and women who listen to your music?

It is absolutely important for us to reach out to Asian-Americans because they’re our family! There aren’t many Asian-American artists in this industry so we are so excited to be one of the few trying to break barriers and are up to the challenge.  We want to show the world that anyone can make their dreams come true.  No matter where you’re from, where you’ve been, what you’ve done, always know that you are beautiful – inside and out.  You were put on this earth for a purpose; all you have to do is live it.  The road has not been easy and will not get any easier, but we are going to keep pushing and we hope that inspires others to do the same.
