The music video for the huge collab we posted a preview of before has just been officially released today.

My thoughts after the break.

So now that the song itself is out I can officially comment on it. I definitely feel its one of the stronger collab tracks I’ve heard in quite some time. I’m feeling it more than last summer’s ‘About That Money‘. It’s all a little less commercial, a little more ‘backpack’, but you know what? That’s how I like it haha. Think of it as the Asian American version of ‘Swagga Like Us’. Every MC came through strong on this one. The scratched hook is good too, but can get repetitive by the end of the 5+ min track.

And now my thoughts on the video itself. The productions values are sick. I seriously gotta give props to visionlab studios. They did an incredible job. The video itself is simple but effective. Just the artists doing their thing at The Bassment studios. It’s similar to the video for Lyricks & Manifest’s song ‘The Gift‘ from a couple years back. I think the verses could have used more cuts, more variety, instead of straight shots in the booth but I can definitely appreciate it for what it is. Does it to the song justice? Yes, for the most part. At the very least, its real. For those of you who have never met Johnnyphlo, Decipher, Lyricks and Manifest (they’re all good people haha) it’s always good to put a face to the voice.
