Epik High featured in The Source blog

Famous Hip Hop publication The Source recently featured a blog post on the Epik High concert stop in NYC for their Map the Soul tour.

It’s a good quick read and offers a recap of what went down in NYC that night. Great to see their music going international.

Discovery Channel documentary on Rain (Bi)

This isn’t new news but ChannelAPA recently posted a blog entry with the videos from the documentary done by Discovery Channel entitled “Hip Korea”. I haven’t had a chance to watch it myself but feel free to check it out. The clips supposedly offer some good insights and backstory behind the world-market focused Rain.

Fatman Scoop remixes FM’s Girls on the Dance Floor

Music personality Fatman Scoop has released an official remix to FM’s Girls on the Dance Floor. True to his style, its mainly just him shouting over the song, adding a little bit of flair but no drastic changes. I supposed it adds a little energy for the club but more importantly it highlights and adds to the great exposure FM has been getting as of recently.

Listen to it after the break along with links to DL.

Son Dambi drops out of Hype Nation film

Remember months ago when we posted about how SDB was gonna be in a hollywood flop film with some ex B2K members? No? Yea we don’t remember it too well either. But alas, the dream of seeing today’s version of Uhm Jung Hwa on the North American silver screen has ended before it began. Citing scheduling issues stemming from the repeated filming delays, Ms Son has had to drop out.

Oh well, I actually think its better for her anyways.

WTF: Park Ji Yoon x Willa Ford – Nastified

nastified

For this installment of Weekly Thursday Freebie I bring you a long forgotten (and arguably deservedly so) little collaboration between East and West from the early 2000′s.

Since Park Ji Yoon recently made a comeback to the KPOP scene I figured I could dig up this track from her fifth album featuring Willa Ford, a one-hit wonder US pop star from the beginning of the new millenium.

In no way would I consider this song good. It’s interesting, perhaps even stupidly catchy, but not good. It’s just… silly. As long as you don’t take it too seriously it can be fun. I mean the song is titled ‘Nastified’ for goodness sake. The lyrics are golden too. My favorite line is

Welcome to the real east coast where your booty aint considered beauty“.

I kid you not, that’s a real line.

WTF FTW! Link after the break.
