Olivia Thai covers One Republic – Apologize

R&B/Pop singer/youtube hit Olivia Thai has released her first single, a cover of One Republic’s Apologize. She sang it well but it stuck pretty closely to the original. I look forward to seeing what she will do in the future.

Koo Chung feature w/ KACMedia

Korean Christian portal KACMedia has featured a performance of Koo Chung in their music scene section.

It’s a very down to earth, simple performance but its a good watch.

Paul Dateh featured on Inverse – So Far

Although this isn’t breaking news I thought it was worth mentioning that violinist and singer Paul Dateh was recently featured on the song ‘So Far’ by hip hop group Inverse. His contributions heavily make up the backbone of what is a fantastic beat. I really enjoyed the song as a whole as well. Paul is also featured (sparingly) in the video.

Big ups to Paul and Inverse on this one.

BoA SF Concert recap courtesy of Bump This

BoA’s performance at the Gay Pride festival in San Francisco took place this weekend and Bump This has a first hand recap of the whole experience. She was reportedly received well and I can only hope more opportunities to perform in front of large audiences will come her way.

Kina Grannis interview w/ The OC Register

The OC Register, an Orance County of California focused news portal did a feature intervew w/ Kina Grannis, the acoustic musician and youtube/Super Bowl video contest star.

Here’s a great quote:

Q. What do you want other young musicians to take from your experience?

A. If doing music is what you have to do then everything you put into that effort will make a difference. Not everyone will make it huge People need to keep true to their hearts and write for themselves.

Shogunna back from Korea, releases video update

You may recall Shogunna recently shot and released a video from Korea. He’s back now and announced he’s working on putting together more new music entitled ‘The Last Confession’.

Jimmyboi releases Better Days/L2H Thang Remix MV

Vietnamese souther rapper Jimmyboi has dropped a new MV. Both tracks can be found on his ‘Puttin in Work Vol. 2′ mixtape.

The quality and production values of the video wasn’t as nice as some of his past videos but the songs are decent. I like ‘Better Days’ more but ‘L2H Thang’ has a pretty hard hitting beat. Honestly my favorite part is at the end when he talks about his life and mentality.

Tablo (of Epik High) interview w/ AllKPOP

Tablo, the front man for Epik High and California native was recently interviewed by AllKPOP. I haven’t had the chance to check it out myself but Tablo is usually very forward and well spoken so it should be a good feature.
