With today marking an unfortunate day in music history I thought it would be appropriate to offer one instance of KPOP’s dance tribute to Michael Jackson as this Week’s Thursday Freebie.

K-Hip Hop legend Drunken Tiger aka Tiger JK has announced that he will release a new 8th album. It will be entitled ‘Feel ghood muzik’, a mash up of feel good and feel hood. It will be a double disc album that will showcase two distinct styles of hip-hop, laid back vs aggresive. The album is supposed to feature a who’s who list of finest hip hop talents to grace the mic, both Korean and abroad. Rakim, Dilated People, and Zeebra of Japan along with his wife Tasha, Dynamic Duo, Yang Dong Gun, Double K, and others are all reported on this one.
I’m definitely looking foward to the concept/release. Makes me wonder if DJ Shine ever regrets parting ways.
Look for it to drop June 29th.

The hugely talented youtube teen musician, Jennifer Chung, was interviewed by MTV Iggy. Unfortunately I can’t embed the video here so you’re just gonna have to check it out over at Iggy. That girl has so much down to earth charm. A recommended watch if you’re even the least bit of a fan.
Deep Foundation, an Asian-American hip hop group has collaborated with crooner Jay Legaspi for what I consider to be one of the best song I’ve heard this year. The music video is also top notch, featuring the highly stylized work and direction of Choz Belen. It is definitely worth the watch/listen. I never heard of Deep Foundation before this but I’ll be sure to pay attention from now on.

SRadioClub is reporting that Crown J is teaming up with Lee Hyun Do, former member of the legendary KPOP group Deux, for a new upcoming US single. Lee Hyun Do will provide the production as CJ tackles the mic.
I’m kind of curious how this will turn out. Crown J is very hit or miss with me. For some reason I feel like he’s acting too much sometimes. Regardless, I’m always willing to hear some good music so hopefully this will turn out to be a great match.
