Wheesung Reveals More Details About US Debut

You may recall the news that Wheesung was planning on entering the US market, well a couple months later he’s revealed a few more details and OMGKPOP’s got the scoop:
On Sunday’s airing of Pops in Seoul’s “In the Booth With” segment, the loveable VJ Isak asked Wheesung about his upcoming US Debut. Check out what he had to say about recording his English debut album, Ne-Yo, and Michael Jackson.
On “In the Booth With,” VJ Isak interviewed Wheessung and asked him about his upcoming debut in the US. This is what he had to say…
Isak: I heard that you are bringing your music to the US, next year!”
Wheesung: “Yes! It’s an opportunity that just fell from the sky. The opportunity really came down from the heavens. I was very lucky. They called me first! A team that was planning a project wanted to invite an Asian singer to the US. They wanted me to be their first singer. So I told them that I couldn’t speak English, and that I was old…”
Isak: What does age have to do with it?!“…So I told them to think it over again and call me. They called me and said they thought it was fine and I said I would do it and thanked them. That’s what happened. I think I was very lucky. I’m very happy that I was so lucky”
Isak: Tell us about the story about you and Michael Jackson.
“I’m working with Ne-Yo and another producer on a song that was originally written for Michael Jackson.”
Isak: Wow, the song you will be recording? You’ll be in the US and singing in front of recognized R&B stars and will be recording music with them. Do you feel the weight on your shoulders?“At first I thought it would be stressful but actually it wasn’t that hard, it’s strange. It’s more challenging for me to sing in Korea! But I’m starting something totally different so I think of it as a new chapter in my life.” interviewed Wheesung earlier this year he said he had no plans to enter the US market, but with these preparations and such, it shows how quickly ones plans can change. Definitely wishing the best of luck to Wheesung on his upcoming US debut! Please continue to visit OMGKPOP for more news regarding Wheesung’s crossover.
When OMGKPOP
Honestly I’m still a bit skeptical… not of Wheesung’s talent but just of the execution of the whole project. Thankfully Ne-Yo is an amazing producer so hopefully he’ll come through on that end. I’m hoping for the best because questionable fashion choices aside, Wheesung is one of the most talented r&b singers in Korea.

Jin x James Ha Freestyle Collabo
Veteran + the New School, doin their thing on youtube. James Ha does his body beat box magic as Jin spits off the top. It’s a quick verse but definitely cool to see.
Cathy Nguyen x Andrew Garcia Cover ‘This Christmas’
Not to be outdone by the AJ x Kina collab, Cathy & Andrew have done a little something of their own. Of course with the holiday season quickly approaching, holiday music is creeping its way in and they have covered Chris Brown’s cover of Donny Hathaway’s “This Christmas”.
Andrew really shined hear but Cathy held her own. It was a fun collab as these two goofy singers got into the Christmas spirit.
..it’s NEVER too early to sing CHRISTMAS songs! haha
so here’s andrew & i covering chris brown’s cover of donny hathaway’s “this christmas” we hope you enjoy!
we didn’t get to spend much time to work on a more decent cover, [actually more like doing a bunch of takes, so we can post up some ridiculous bloopers for you all], but we hope you enjoy it regardless! =]
ps. i know this wasn’t my best & i was strugging & off at parts, but andrew did amazing & we can’t deny his talent! whoo!
..AND also, we want to wish everyone a lovely & blessed Thanksgiving & holiday season this year! we are truly grateful & thankful for all your love & support!
Kristine Sa Releases ‘Lonely Asylum’ MV
Kristine Sa’s latest release, ‘Lonely Asylum’, is a slow, haunting, almost disturbing song that manages to also be beautiful and thought provoking. It’s moody, dark, and emotional but it kept me engrossed the entire time.
What do you guys think?

AJ Rafael x Kina Grannis Cover ‘Two is Better Than One’
AJ & Kina teamed up for this beautiful cover of the song ‘Two is Better Than One’ by Boys Like Girls x Taylor Swift. Some other talented folks like Victor Kim, Andrew Garcia, and Cathy Nguyen were all present for the filming of this cover. Gotta love the community!
AJ & Kina’s voices blended beautifully. I hope they’ll go all in and do a record some day.
Sam Ock Releases New Original – ‘Undecided’
This is a great video where Sam Ock explores a new medium to deliver his art.
‘Undecided’ is a VideoSong, a new medium with 2 rules: 1. What you see is what you hear (no lip-syncing for instruments or voice). 2. If you hear it, at some point you see it (no hidden sounds).
I really liked this track. He continues to channel his inner Michael Buble, and its a style that works for him. Sam has a penchant for crafting organic sounding pieces, and this one is no different. Good stuff. If you’re feeling the track you can DL it for free here.
i don’t know where this path leads
so take my outstretched arm and pull me in
failure, why can’t we be friends?
will you embrace me if i see you at the end?well i guess it depends on who you are…to me
**i don’t want to choose…’cause in the end i may not meet you
but now that you mention it,
rags and riches really don’t solve a thing.
i am just a candle. one in some billions.
failure are you in this box with me?well i guess it depends on who(what) you are…to me
**i guess i have to choose…’cause in the end i want to meet you
(pick myself up, fallin’ down again..)
WTF: Chops Best Remixes Vol. 2

Christine Concepcion Releases ‘Beautiful Miracle’
Similar to ‘April Rush‘, this song is dedicated to her son Caeland. It’s amazing when artists share a piece of their lives through their music. Christine doesn’t have the strongest voice, but it’s sweet and sincere. It’s clear her and Andrew Garcia have a lot of love for their kid. That’s wassup.
It seriously has been a while!! Thank you to everyone who has supported me throughout the years!!.. Here is an original for my son
I know its a little slow, but give it a chance
