BP & Odds To Release New Free EP – ‘The Gradient’ On 01.15.10
Hip-Hop MC/Producer duo BP & Odds is getting ready to release a brand new EP entitled ‘The Gradient’ on 1.15.10. Recession got you down? No worries, it’ll be a FREE download. If you’re looking for some new material for your hip-hop playlist, then this may very well be the fix you need provided you can wait a couple weeks. In the mean time you can always check out ‘The Plan‘, since they are offering that as a free download as well for a limited time.
Another Update on the Jin vs Dizaster/Illmaculate Battles
Remember when we reported that there was some trouble organizing the Jin vs Dizaster/Illmaculate battles? We heard at that time the battles were rescheduled for Battle of LA on New Years Eve. Well since that day is today Jin posted a new update stating it didn’t happen once again due to the lack of coordination.
This battle may not happen but Jin is contemplating starting his own league to make sure the logistics are worked out properly.
Either way we’ll keep you updated!
D-Pryde x Traphik x Dumbfoundead x Dyme-A-Duzin x Prince EA x Ahmir Release ‘Forever’ Remix
The year is coming to a close but we got another mega collab to do it proper. This time, D-Pryde, Traphik, Dumbfoundead, Dyme-A-Duzin, Prince EA & Ahmir got together to remix the huge hit from earlier this year, ‘Forever’ by Lil’ Wayne, Drake, Kanye, and Eminem.
There are definitely a couple stand out verses on this track, so its worth peeping. Even better there will be an official video released soon AND the song is available as a free download.

JL x Manifest x Lyricks Release ‘Cube Runners’ MV
The Beautiful Cycle team members JL, Manifest, and Lyricks teamed up to drop a new track and MV. The song is called ‘Cube Runners’ and its some pure, raw hip-hop. Tablo x MYK Release ‘For the Kids’ MV & Single
Tablo & MYK have teamed up to release a new single called ‘For the Kids’ along with an MV. The video is a quick, low budget piece shot all in one day. The two MCs spit over the beat to “Passin’ Me By” by Pharcyde and although its nothing fancy its some good old fashioned hip-hop. Oh, and the track is available for download, completely free of charge.

Nump Releases MV For ‘We Gon Make It’
Check out the latest video from west coast artist Nump. The track is called ‘We Gon Make It’ and it’s off his album ‘Student Ov Da Game‘. The track and video focuses on the grind and doing what it takes to get to the top. It’s a decent watch, nothing too out of the ordinary although the quality is nice and crisp. HD cameras ftw.

Big Will Releases MV For ‘I Can Tell’
Big Will, musician and founder of WWS Magazine, has just dropped the new music video for his single ‘I Can Tell’. I honestly don’t know much about this artist other than the fact he has an album dropping soon. The video quality is nice except for the lighting which is too dim in a lot of scenes. There are a few humorous touches in the MV and it’s always fun to see Fresh Prince references. I like the beat of the song, though I’m not so sure about the singer on the hook.

Jenny Hyun Covers Christina Aguilera’s “Contigo En La Distancia”
Earlier in the decade there was a young Korean American r&b singer who was making some noise, most notably for winning “MTV’s Becoming: Christina Aguilera”. Unfortunately since then the singer’s career never really took off as it should have and I kind of lost tabs on what was going on with her music. Thankfully I’ve recently rediscovered Jenny Hyun (formerly known as Jaley) and she’s still singing, which is a great thing considering she has a fantastic voice.
It’s only fitting that the first song I hear from her in years is another Christina Aguilera cover, this time of the spanish language track ‘Contigo En La Distancia’. My spanish is a bit rusty but that doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate the fact Jenny sang the song wonderfully. I’m looking forward to hearing more new music from her.
FM Featured in the LA Times Blog
FM was featured a few days ago on the LA Times Entertainment blog. Without a doubt this is the single best summary of FM and their career and a definite must read. They break down everything from the beginning to the present and discuss all the major milestones along the way. Make sure you check this one out if you haven’t already. Huge congrats to FM. They’ve really come a long way.
