WTF: Passion x Reena Lynn – My Boo Cover

Waddup a-Tunes!? It’s time for another Weekly Thursday Freebie and this time we’ve got a throwback acoustic performance from over 5 years ago. I remember seeing this years back, probably around 2004 when I was still in college. Passion and Reena Lynn do an awesome acoustic cover of the r&b hit “My Boo” by Usher & Alicia Keys.

They’ve covered it a number of times but the rendition above is my favorite one that I’ve heard or seen thus far. They definitely do the song justice with their smooth, stripped rendition.

So this week you can grab both the video and song! Neither video nor audio quality is the greatest but it isn’t terrible either. But I mean what do you expect of an audio rip from a video posted online in 2004!? Back then HD was just a dream to most. If you’re an audio/video-phile it may bug you but everyone should be able to enjoy this one =).

You know the deal, link after the jump!

Sam Geunjin Kang x Wong Fu MV for ‘Red Light’ To Drop Dec 10th

Wong Fu has announced their newest music video for artist Sam Geunjin Kang is about ready for official release and will drop December 10th. The MV is for a song entitled ‘Red Light’ which you can hear on his Myspace.

Check out what Wong Fu had to say:

Next week we will be releasing a brand new music video!  You’ve heard us talk about Sam Geunjin Kang in the past, we shot it in July, premiered it at ISA in Sept, and showed it on tour the past 2 months…Finally we’re ready to release it to the world on December 10th! Next Thursday! We first met Sam in August of 2008 at a show. He personally really impressed me with his voice, style, and most of all, his lyrics. Yes, I think lyrics are the most important in any song. A lot of the stuff he rapped/sang about resonated with me, especially a particular song called “Dreams”, which actually moved me quite a bit and prompted me to think about my family. I go a bit more in depth about the song, but you can read that here.

We know that he’s not some YouTube celeb or got some crazy viral video, but I think that’s why we think this video project was pretty cool, because it is someone new that not a lotta people know, a good guy with a lotta talent, who we’re helping to showcase, and I think that’s exciting!

Can’t wait to see the video when it drops! Wong Fu is always on point.

Jennifer Chung x Seriously Post Live Performance @ The Roxy

Catch Jennifer Chung’s recent performance at the famous Roxy as she sings an original song (‘The Way You Do’) accompanied by none other then the band Seriously. The audio quality isn’t the greatest in this clip but its great to hear her in a live setting and away from a webcam for once. That girl’s got some pipes. I hope to hear both her and seriously live in the near future too.

Lyrics after the jump.

Wonder Girls to Perform on So You Think You Can Dance

I came across this little gem over at AllKPop. The Wonder Girls are set to appear on So You Think You Can Dance next week on Fox! This is the first prime-time appearance by a cross over KPOP group that I know of and is huge news. Congrats to the ladies for working so hard.

“On Wednesday, Dec. 9 (8:00-9:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed), Season Eight AMERICAN IDOL winner Kris Allen and pop sensations Wonder Girls will take the stage. Allen will perform his newest single, “Live Like You’re Dying,” and Wonder Girls will sing their hit song, “Nobody,” before America’s vote is revealed and Cat Deeley names the six dancers who will perform in the following week’s finale.

Pop sensation Wonder Girls sold over 30,000 copies of their debut single “Nobody” during the week of October 11 earning them the No. 76 position with a bullet on the Hot 100. This is the first time ever a music group from South Korea has debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. Already a hit in Asia, the Wonder Girls are striking a chord with a young U.S. audience, having just completed their first U.S. concert tour with the Jonas Brothers.”

You may remember one of the contestant’s last season danced to BoA, but it’s great to see an artist appear as an actual guest this time =).

Mike Isberto x Jen Fabian Cover “Baby, It’s Cold Outside”

This is prob one of my favorite covers in a while. Mike Isberto teams up with Jen Fabian for a great cover of the pop standard “Baby, It’s Cold Outside”. Mike sounds great as usual but this is the first I’ve heard from Jen. Her voice is perfect for this style of song.

It’s a cute, fun little music video and an awesome cover overall. I wish they’d offer it up for DL as well!

James Ha Remixes AJ Rafael Band’s “I Just Want You”

It’s a pretty cool rendition as James Ha takes AJ Rafael Band’s pop rock hit ‘I Just Want You‘ and turns it into a trippy auto-tuned techno version. I’d like to hear the body beatbox recorded and seperately so its not filtered through auto-tune as well but overall I’d say its a pretty neat remix. James definitely adds a unique flavor to it.

Word has it he’ll be moving overseas soon. Let’s hope the videos and music don’t stop!

I just wonder what’s up with the weird spiderman doll in the closet?

Elise Estrada Releases New Xmas Single – “A Christmas Wish”

Elise Estrada, the Canadian singer/actress has posted up a new song on her myspace entitled ‘A Christmas Wish’. It’s similar in style and sound to other christmas pop singers released over the years, especially Mariah Carey’s immensely popular album from the 90′s. That being said, it may not be avant garde but it is pretty darn catchy, if not feel good music. The young singer definitely has a sweet voice for this type of song.

It’s available as a free DL in case you’re interested in expanding your holiday playlist.

Dumbfoundead Drops Slaughterhouse Remix Verse

Dumb’s been posting up a lot of videos the past couple days, including one of him spitting a verse over one of the best beats of the year… Slaughterhouses ‘The One’. I’d like to hear a full out remix of the song recorded but this quick little video ain’t bad either. Check it out as he spits 16 in a bathroom haha.
