AMP Behind the Scenes at the ‘See You In Heaven’ MV Shoot
It appears that one video wasn’t enough for the single ‘See You in Heaven’ by Sam Ock x JL x J. Han, better known as AMP. They just revealed some behind the scenes footage from a new shoot for the song. They stayed local to the DMV (DC, Maryland Virginia) area for this shoot, hitting up some famous spots while they were at it. They’ve outsourced the production this time and it looks like it’ll have a bit more polish to it. Stay on the look out, we’ll post it when it’s up!
Scott Yoshimoto x Jason Chen Cover the Pokemon Theme Song
I think it’s an invaluable quality to be able to let loose and laugh at yourself sometimes. Scott and Jason decided to just that and make a completely rediculous but very entertaining video where they cover the Pokemon theme song. The Nintendo craze happened at a time where I had just passed the target age group so I was never that into the phenomenon but I still appreciate this video. The video has some impressive effects but it’s a shame neither tried to go for the glory note at the end though!
HAHAH wanted to do a cover of something not usually covered =] and rather than put up a video of us just singing it, we wanted to create something interesting to watch as well! So after a lot of cheesy dialogue & digging through old boxes to find my old gameboys, this is the result! Hope you have as much fun watching it as we did making it
IZ Releases Past Material as a Free DL
IZ has decided to drop a collection of his older material from 2007 in a digital release appropriately titled ’07 OLD sHITS. If you’ve ever wondered how IZ got his start and what his earliest music was like then you should check this one out since IZ pretty much entered the game in 07, so this is his musical genesis so to speak. It’s only 6 tracks but it’s a free download.

Jin Wants to Collab With YOU!
Jin has announced that he will be creating a brand new mixtape by the people, for the people. What does this mean? He is holding a competition inviting anyone (including YOU) to jump on your favorite instrumental and create a song about the state of Hip-Hop, and leave space for Jin to spit a 16 on. Once all the entries are in, voting will commence and Jin will get on 10 of those tracks, thereby creating the new mixtape. It’s an exciting opportunity for anyone who’s ever wanted to collab with the man.

1. Pick your favorite instrumental.
2. Record a song leaving a 16 bar verse open. (The song can be about anything. Be creative!)
3. Upload the mp3 to youtube as a video response to my announcement video (above).
4. Viewers (you all) will vote for their favorite 5 songs and I will pick my 5 favorite songs.
5. I will add my verse on the 10 selected tracks.
Timeline:
Submission date – Feb. 28th to May 1st (2 months)
Voting will take place from – May 1st to May 14th (2 weeks)

Michelle Martinez x Anthony Balmeo x Enoch Cover Rihanna’s “Hard”
Check out this nice cover of Rihanna’s “Hard”, featuring just an acoustic guitar courtesy of Anthony Balmeo and Enoch reciting a few lines over the instrumental while Michelle Martinez does her thing on the vocals. I’m digging this one, it’s got it’s own unique flavor and isn’t just your average youtube cover of the day, they took the time to flip it. Everyone sounds great and put together a great sounding video/song. Hopefully they’ll work together to put out some original material cause this is fresh.
Descry To Release Sophomore LP; Drops New Single
Descry, a producer and DJ from the Nehemiah Band, is gearing up to drop his 2nd full length album entitled As Serenity Approaches.
The album is slated to feature Oddisee, Dumbfoundead, Donwill, Ohmega Watts, Substantial, Raashan Ahmad, John Robinson, TiRon, Theo Martins, and Nieve among others. It appears theres no shortage of cosignage for this release. You can expect the album later this year but in the mean time Descy is beginning to drop some of the singles from As Serenity Approaches.
The first cut to face the public is called ‘Paved Paths’ and featurins Von Pea, MED, aDaD, and Danny Brown along with programming by DJ Incise. It’s got that classic hip-hop flavor to it so make sure you don’t sleep on this one.
454 Life Entertainment Release ‘Go Hard’ MV Teaser
Yesterday we reported on the formation of a new label called 454 Life Entertainement featuring artists Thai, Nump Trump, IZ, and Drew Deezy. Well they are continuing their marketing push and have just dropped a teaser video for their new MV ‘Go Hard’, completely with epic music and a pair of Ferraris. No release date was announced other than the fact that it’s “coming soon”. The song will features 3 out of the 4 members: Thai, Nump and Drew though I’m sure IZ will make a cameo in the video.
Acoustic Shuffle Benefit Show in SoCal [Today!]
I dunno how we missed this one but there will be a HUGE benefit concert event in Torrance, CA today featuring a ton of artists. The event is being held to raise funds for Haiti along with a local area high school.

I know this is crazy late notice seeing as how the event is today but just look at this stacked line up. This is an event that likely should’nt be missed. Good music, good cause, good roster, what more can you ask for?

Misnomer(s) Release ‘Too Many Things’ as a Free DL
For those of you who are like me and have been itching to hear some official studio material from the hip-hop sister duo Misnomer(s) well then today is your lucky day. The just announced via twitter that their single ‘Too Many Things’ is available for freedownload via their bandcamp page. Of course this means you gotta input your e-mail and join their list but it’s a small price to pay for good music.

Magnetic North x Taiyo Na x afterschoolspecial x Cynthia Lin to Perform Together!
