amerie x 4minute x B2ST – heard’em all

Sexy diva Amerie hosted a collaboration with Kpop Idol groups, 4minute & B2ST, and released the track, “Heard’em All” just yesterday.

Amerie has gotten some Kpop Idol help before and even performed on the renown music stage in Korea so she’s definitely not a stranger to the Kpop sound. Everyone was more concerned about how to the sound would turn out and most people agree; it’s definitely not a hate thing. It wouldn’t stretch as to make a mark the top collaboration list but it’s definitely song worthy. Check it out below!

Dumbfoundead to Host the Paid Dues 2010 Music Festival

That’s right Dumbfoundead is set to be one of the hosts for the legendary Paid Dues 2010 Music Festival. This is a huge honor for the artist and a testament to how much buzz and respect this MC has going for him. People respect him because he respects real music.

Check out this lineup! This is raw, unadulterated hip-hop at it’s best. Congrats to Dumbfoundead. Maybe in a few years we’ll see him and others invited to participate as headlining performers.

Esna Yoon x Dawen Collab for a Pop/R&B Medley

Esna Yoon really has a knack for choosing artists that are a great vocal match for her. This time she teams up with R&B specialist Dawen in singing a medley of various current Pop/R&B hits. They cover Young Money’s “Bedrock”, IYAZ’s “Replay”, and Beyonce’s “Sweet Dreams”. I liked Dawen’s unique choice of synth sounds though the medley wasn’t completely seamless. Still, they sang some great interpretations of the songs and I can always appreciate a fresh approach.

Tim Be Told Interview w/ Mochi Magazine

Tim Be Told has a new interview out with Mochi Magazine (what an awesome site name!). The feature article is short but gets straight to the point on frontman Tim Ouyang deciding to pursue music despite the cultural misunderstandings between him and his family. It just  goes to show that these are a determined group of guys willing to lay down the ground work  for future musicians to do their thing too.

You can catch the interview in full after the break. Don’t forget to also check out our own Q&A session with the band.

Kat Badar Performs Mariah Carey’s “I Still Believe”

Kat Badar, a member of the group BLYSS, recently posted up footage of her covering Mariah Carey’s well known song “I Still Believe” at an informal gig. Kat sang the song with ease. If you didn’t know it before you better recognize, this girl can sing. I really like how she doesn’t have a typical voice, it has a unique rasp to it. Be on the lookout for this one, she’s definitely got the goods.
