Behind The Scenes at Manifest’s “Open Bars” Release Party

Manifest dropped his latest mixtape Open Bars a few weeks back and he’s released some fresh footage from his Release Party event in the heart of NoVA. Check out the various clips of Manifest himself along with on stage support from Lyricks, JL, C-Note, Sickboi, Capital P, ill Bill, Decipher and Johnnyphlo.

The sound is crucially bottomed out and ridiculously distorted but you still get a pretty good idea of how The Beautiful Cycle crew in conjunction with MUzO get down. Stay tuned because they’ll be dropping part two soon!

Jesse Barrera x Melissa Polinar Release ‘Stay With Me’

Jesse Barrera has released the first full single off of Love in Technicolor featuring the lovely and talented Melissa Polinar. A little while back Jesse did a quick  youtube performance of the song and at that point I was hoping to hear a studio version. Well I got my wish and I can gladly say I am not disappointed. It’s a great pop-rock ballad and Melissa’s contributions are subtle but still heavily appreciated.

The album drops in a few weeks time (Marth 24th). Everything looks (sounds?) great so far.

Kina Grannis – Stairwells Debuts at #139 This Week on Billboard Top 200

Stairwells, Kina Grannis’s latest album has cracked the Billboard top 200 with a debut at #139! While this may be unimpressive to big named artist with major studio backing, this is no small feat for an indie artist with a grassroots online campaign. a-Tunes would like to extend a HUGE congratulations to Kina on this milestone accomplishment!

Look, billboard doesn’t even have an album cover for her on file, but she’s right up there with some of the biggest names. Go buy the album if you haven’t already!

Dumbfoundead Releases New Track Produced by The Quiett; Interviews DJ Soulscape

Dumbfoundead’s got a new track entitled “Battle” produced by one of Korea’s elite hip-hop artists/producers – The Quiett (he previewed this track last year). In the following promo video, dumb and DJ Zo get goofy fooling around with some green screen effects set to some classic 90′s fighting video game stages. Want the full track? You can download it in full here.

Felt like it had been awhile since I put out a download for you guys so here you go.

For those of you who don’t know the Quiett from Soul Company, you really should cause he’s one of the BEST producers in Korea.

Zo on the cuts…

Video – Testing out a few green screen techniques. Very quick and dirty cause us seriously actors don’t really have time to mess around.

Additionally, as promised, dumb’s got an exclusive interview with the famed DJ Soulscape of Korea.

You can grab DJ Soulscape’s latest mixtape entitled Rap 1988 after the break. Just click the image for the download.

Legaci x Cathy Nguyen x Traphik Cover Justin Bieber’s “Baby”

I’ll be the first to admit I’m not the biggest Justin Bieber fan. The kid makes catchy music but I can only take so much of his high, prepubescent voice. Thankfully, along comes Legaci, Cathy Nguyen, and Traphik to come and cover the song and flip it so it’s a lot more enjoyable. This isn’t the hottest cover I’ve seen from Legaci but I’m still digging this one. It’s too bad Cathy didn’t have a more prominent part. Traphik was cool but this is one part of the song where I dig the original better (Luda had a killer flow).

This project is my personal way of putting a distinctive bookmark in this chapter in my life, and a way to pass a sincere thank you to Jay-Z, Mr. Sean Carter, for all of the memories, the opportunity to rock on stage as an artist with him around the world, and for the kindness to me as a person. You know I had to do it in my language; a thank you in music.

Heather Park Releases ‘Trust You’ MV

Heather Park has got a new video out for her single ‘Trust You’ from her upcoming album Stay set to drop in May of this year. The song is sultry smooth and appealing with a video to match. Just a forewarning, it’s a bit risque as Heather shows off some of her well tone figure. In an interesting coincidence I finally got the chance to see West 32nd this past weekend, which prominently featured Heather’s song “Leave Me to Dream“. It’s been a while since I’ve heard new material from her, glad to see she’s ramping up to some new releases.

If you’re liking the track, she’s offered  ‘Trust You’ as a free download so grab it while it’s hot.
