D-Pryde Drops New Single – “Take Off”

It’s been interesting to see D-Pryde develop as an artist. He’s really grown into his own style and held his own against MC’s a lot older. The young rapper has dropped a new single entitled ‘Take Off’ and it’s pretty nice, auto-tuned hook and all. One thing that D-Pryde always brings to the track is tenacity and this is no different. Have a listen:

Let’s take off people. You ready?

I put a lot of passion into writing this one. Both heart-felt and anger driven lines. I didn’t want to go too hardcore with wordplayish with this. I had to make it simple for every audience to hear, so check it. I wanted to surprise ya’ll with something. Check it out.

This is the new single I got locked for my next mixtape…not titled yet. No release date yet, I’ma keep ya’ll posted. But here you go. My first song in a while with 3 full verses and a hook. Check it out. NHB and UBER GANG! I’ll keep ya’ll posted.

And yes, the track is available for free DL, so click away if you’d like this one on your playlist.

Scooter Oyama Performance at Inspire ’10 Posted

Scooter Oyama brought his band of acoustic hip-hop to this year’s Inspire event and his performance has finally been posted up. I realy like his mixing of styles though the rap vocals weren’t mixed right on the live stage, it was hard to make out a lot of what he was saying. His guitar skills are bananas though.

I think his music definitely deserves the studio treatment. Scooter is one of the more interesting artists I’ve come across in a while.

Sophia Moon Interview w/ HMTV Canada

Sophia Moon has got a new interview out with Hollywood Music TV Canada, and it goes pretty in depth about her latest album Staring Back at Me, and the process behind how it came to be. I enjoyed the read because it gave an additional layer of context behind the album that helps me appreciate certain aspects of it more. The interview also touches upon the earlier part of her career and where she plans to go from here.

Clara Chung Releases The Official ‘Offbeat’ Single

It’s only been a couple weeks since her winning performance at Kollaboration 10 but Clara Chung has been hard at work. She’s released the official single of her original song ‘Offbeat’ which she also performed at Kollab. It’s a great single that makes you realize why this artist won in the first place.

What I appreciate most about Clara is her penchant for unique arrangements and use of instrumentation. It’s certified fresh. The video also features supporting instrumentation from members of the band Feats in Inches. Initially Clara offered the single as a free download for the first 2000 DL’s, but that allocation was eaten up quick, but it’s still available for purchase ($1) here. A dollar well spent if you ask me.

Jin Previews New Untitled Demo from Say Something Mixtape

Jin’s got another track to preview off his upcoming Say Something mixtape. It’s still currently untitled but he’s spitting over the famous Jay x Rihanna x Kanye ‘Run This Town’ instrumental. I’m really digging how everything he’s previewed so far has some real content in it. Jin’s really progressed as an artist, from battle MC, to commercial Ruff Ryders material, to raw underground with a mixture of both to social commentary and introspection. I’m definitely intrigued as to how this project will turn out upon release.
