Clara Chung x Alex Hwang Cover/Mash-Up ‘Smile’ and ‘Candy Hearts’

Clara is back to her trademark quirky but cute youtube visuals with this mash-up cover of the Charlie Chaplin classic ‘Smile’ and Tofer Brown’s ‘Candy Hearts’. I dunno how to describe it except as… enchanting? If you watch it, I think you’ll know what I mean. That is… until they go totally off the wall with the dialouge at the end. Either way, as awesome as it was to see Clara collab with some great artists recently, it’s great to see her return to this style too.

Grady Releases Teaser Clip of the MV for “Dreamin”

Grady, an MC from SoCal also known for his work with the band Downbeat, is taking a big step and getting ready to drop the MV for his song ‘Dreamin’. It’s not as polished as something you’d see from WongFu, but the artistic direction has a lot of potential. I’m liking how he’s not going the typical route with straight shots and edits but is mixing photography and video. This one should drop in the near future, so we’ll keep ya posted!

names Grady, student by day, rappper by night? siiiiike. lets keep it simple. i’m just da daily dude on da grind tryna make some good vibin la musica for yo souls.

Jennifer Chung (Finally) Officially Releases “I Don’t Know, Let’s Sing”

Those of you who are long time Jennifer Chung fans may know her song “I Don’t Know, Let’s Sing”, of which a music video was even made for but the single itself was never officially released. Well two years later it’s here for the price of a McDouble from her bandcamp page. I really liked this song and was dissapointed when I found it wasn’t on her EP, ‘Common Simple Beautiful‘. Make sure to grab this track now that you finally can (officially, anyway)!

Kyrstle Cruz Shares Preview of ‘Eternity’

R&B/Pop singer Krystle Cruz has just shared a new preview of her upcoming single ‘Eternity’. It’s got that catchy electro-pop vibe that’s really in at the moment and honestly I’m liking what I hear so far. The song will be a part of her upcoming album, and will be released as a single on Amazon & iTunes in the near future. The song definitely has promise, looking forward to the release!

Dan aka Dan of afterschoolspecial Interview w/ AAtheory

I’m sure many of you are familiar with afterschoolspecial by now, the rock/hip-hop fusion band hailing from San Diego. Well AAtheory has just released an interview with the frontman of the band, Dan aka Dan. Ever wonder how the band formed, or about Dan’s upbringing? How about collaborations with other Asian-American artists? Biggest musical influences? Then this is a good clip to watch. Look out for the most random interview crasher I’ve ever seen.

Big Will Interview w/ Hmoodle

Hip-Hop artist Big Will, also known from his work with WWS Magazine, had a recent interview with website Hmoodle. It’s not that long but they hit on a couple key points such as what other business ventures he’s got going on, some specifics about his album Man in the Mirror, and who inspires him to stay on his grind. You can check out the interview in full after the break of by making the jump to Hmoodle.

Kollaboration ATL 2010 Coverage by OMGKPOP

Unfortunately the a-Tunes team isn’t nearly as large as we’d like to be just yet, so we can’t quite cover all the major events taking place around the country. One example was Kollaboration ATL, which went down a couple weeks back. Thankfully, OMGKPOP had someone on scene and has shared with the rest of us what we all missed out on. Head on over there to see what took place complete with videos!

As a spoiler, these were the two winners:

Coming in first place was Lost in the Gym who took home $1000 and Persuasion & TNT took home $500 for coming in second.
