D-League Featured on GC’s “Boss Shit” MV

Florida hip-hop group D-League has got a new feature on a track by GC for his single “Boss Shit”. Vietnamese-American Demo spits first followed by his group mate Uncut with GC closing out the track. It’s a solid drop though the street video suffers from some poor lighting. I’m not a fan of how GC had his verse mixed down though. Way too layered. Sometimes less is more. He was out-shined by the featuring act.

GC teams up with South Florida’s artists D-League for his street anthem, “Boss Shit”

This was shot and Directed by Nick TooKnown Pinto and edited by Corey B. “Swag or Die” is now on the streets and should be available for iPods and iTunes very soon!!!

Last week, Hideo had to check into Mission Hospital because of weakness and pain.

“Because of the weakness that I’ve been feeling for the past week,” Hideo wrote on his blog shortly before his death. “My vitals are stable and now need the assistance of a ventilator to breathe. I’m very aware of my condition and communicate in writing.  Right now, the one thing I really do miss is drinking a nice ice cold soda.”

According to close friend, DJ K-Sly, DJ Hideo was in severe pain, told doctors not to resuscitate him and he passed away round 3:30 PM.

Showtime: Project Korea III @ Rutgers University – 4/3/2010

Hey folks, so I know it’s been a few weeks since the Project Korea III event featuring Clara Chung, Decipher, Johnnyphlo, Ailee, and Art of Movement went down but we didn’t want to leave you guys hanging without a recap (in case you haven’t read about the event already). We had some pictures and footage to share but quite frankly none of it came close to the quality of the photos and videos put out by the folks of AllKPOP, one of the major sponsors of the show. So just as a disclaimer, all visual multimedia content we are using here was actually captured by AKP. However, any editorial content presented (TEXT) reflect my opinions and thoughts and do not necessarily reflect those of AKP. Just thought we’d clear that up.

Jin Drops Tribute Song to Asian MC’s – ‘The A-List’

Jin, arguably the most well-known Asian-American MC, decided to drop a track in tribute of all the Asian MC’s he respects that are doing their thing right now. This song is in response to a list that was published by a blogger on their top 10 Greatest Asian MC’s list, where Jin made the cut at #1. It’s encouraging to see Jin give a nod to his fellow colleagues, or as his once famously said in a Freestyle battle “cause Game recognize game”. He spits over the instrumental to Drake’s “It’s Over”.

Here’s the complete list of rapper’s he shouted out on the track. Ill.

Baiyu Shares Footage From Local Radio Interview & Behind the Scenes of New MV

In a video update, the Hawaiian via New York singer shared some footage from a local radio interview she did at Jamz 98.1. They shared her new single ‘Sweet Misery‘ and talked a little about it. Afterwards we get to see a glimpse of one of the locales they are using for a music video shoot of a yet to be announced song. All we know is that it’s gonna be an acapella number, so we have something different to look forward to.

Dumbfoundead x Clara Chung x Jay Park Release ‘Clouds’

Here it is! As they promised, the Dumb, Clara, Jay collabo has dropped and it’s definitely a unique blending of different artists. Clara does her vocal magic on the hook while both Dumb and Jay trade raps on the verses. Didn’t expect Jay to spit bars. The song is chill and good listen. It’s definitely got a laid back vibe to it that I can appreciate at 2:30 in the morning (EST). It’s available as a free DL so what are you waiting for?
note: Haha look at Clara peeking through the door on the cover image.

Sophia Moon Releases MV for ‘Five Star Recovery’

Here’s the latest music video for Pop/R&B artist Sophia Moon. This is for the single ‘Five Star Recovery’ off her album Staring Back At Me, release in the fall of last year. She is supposed to be making a huge promotional push for the album this year and this is one of the first major releases from that project.

The song is one of the catchier numbers from the album and can get stuck in your head. I wasn’t a fan of the applause sfx in the bridge but I can see what she was trying to convey with that. It’s all about a woman that faces heartbreak but finds empowerment to move past it for the better. The video is clean and of pretty good quality though it seems like half of it is a shot of Sophia singing from a window balcony. An enjoyable watch though not particularly outstanding. All things considered, it’s a decent debut music video and we extend our congrats to Ms Moon and her team on the career milestone.

Jennifer Chung Covers ‘Pyramid’ By Charice

Here at a-Tunes we have an unofficial policy where we don’t post up every single cover video a singer posts up on Youtube simply because some are better than others and there are often too many to keep track of. Exceptions include multi-artists collabs, “can’t miss” performances, and when Asian artists pay homage to other Asian artists. Luckily this video fits almost all that criteria as JC once again enlists the help of Johnny on the guitar, she sings Charice’s hit song w/ IYAZ – “Pyramid“, and she kills it. Great job!
