East coast R&B singers Jae Jin & Phil Good linked up with Mark Meadows for a couple collabs where they cover The Script’s “Break Even” and Jason Derulo’s “Whatcha Say”. The fellas put their own unique soul/R&B/jazzy-pop spin to the songs and it turned out really well in both cases. ‘Break Even’ was a lot cleaner and better executed overall but “Whatcha Say” had some sweet harmonies and vocal runs. I think you’ll enjoy both though, so do check these clips out.

Sickboi Features on Korean Mixtape by BK & Ra.d

If you are well versed with the Korean hip-hop/R&B scene you may have heard the name Ra.d, a singer who’s been pretty involved in the music scene for years but isn’t quite yet a household name over there. Regardless, Ra.d’s connected with a lot of artists and has put together a mixtape for BK (Baekyoung), an up and coming rapper in Korea. He’s also enlisted the help of Virginia’s very own Sickboi for one of the tracks entitled ’2010′.
You can hear the track below. Sick spits second on the song.
If you’re interested in learning more (and can read Korean), head on over to HipHopPlaya. Or you can just DL the tape in it’s entirety for free by clicking on the cover below.
Dumbfoundead Features on Remix of Nocando’s “Hurry Up and Wait”

In a sweet collab of Southern California artists, Dumb jumps on the remix to fellow Grind Time star Nocando’s “Hurry Up and Wait”. He’s joined by MURS, Intution and Open-Mike Eagle. Dumb closes out the song and he ends the song strong. It’s a free DL so grab it HERE.
Here’s what the LA Times blog had to say:
But the victor might be Project Blowed staple Dumbfoundead, who spits a tongue-twisting double-timed invocation of the Low End Theory as well as L.A. tacos and “dirty Chucks and chains.” Five-and-a-half minutes of witty rhymes, heavy bass, and snapping drums the “Hurry Up and Wait” remix is a tacit throwback to the era when a posse cut didn’t mean five aesthetically unrelated rappers e-mailing files back and forth. It’s like tar-black coffee propelling you to slam on the gas only to realize you’re still stuck in traffic — which is what repeat is for.
FM’s “Like a G6″ Featured on Fly Girls

It looks like Christina Chung isn’t the only Asian-American artist to get a placement on the CW’s new reality seiries Fly Girls. The Far East Movement‘s very appropriate single ‘Like a G6‘ was featured in episode 6! You can watch the show online for now and hear the track at the 2:47 mark. Congrats to FM!
Here’ what they had to say about it:
At first we though Virgin Airlines was cool cuz of the wifi and fresh lighting, but after watching this i think they took it up a notch. United and Delta, up your game!
David Choi, AJ Rafael, Big Phony and Paul Dateh Lend Their Voices For New WongFu Short
Taking a step back from their trademark music video work and goofy vlogs, Wong Fu makes their return to the dramatic front with a new short entitled ‘When Five Fell’. Although we are enthusiastic fans of Wong Fu, you may be asking why is this featured on a-Tunes? Well, it’s because musicians David Choi, AJ Rafael, Big Phony, and Paul Dateh are all involved in voice over work.
They lend their voices to breathe life into inanimate objects that expresses what it’s like to be neglected when once so cherished. David is a pair of glasses, Big Phony is a telephone, AJ is an umbrella, and Paul is a scarf. Personally I thought Paul evoked emotion the best but overall it’s a truly interesting video and everyone did a great job.
454 Life Ent Drops the Trailer for ‘We International’
They released some photos from the shoot last month, but now 454 has gone ahead and released a proper trailer to their MV for ‘We International’. The song features Philly artist Freeway along with Drew, Thai and Iz, who’s finally getting some time to shine on a track. It’s only been a month or so since they announced their formation and 454 shows no sign of slowing down.
