Carlos Galvan Has a Follow-up Interview w/ HalfKorean.com

Carlos Galvan has a new interview out with HalfKorean.com, as they go indepth about what he’s been up to and what has happened since the last time they spoke. It’s a thorough read but explains how so much has happened in the past year including his linking of with the Jiggy Fellaz crew and his thoughts on the new Uptown. He also talks about his recently released effort South Cide. Check out the full read after the break or head on over to HK!
Lil Crazed x Phlip x Dee Release “Doing Me”
Lil Crazed and his KID crew mates have got a new track called “Doing Me”. The video is nothing special, just them lip syncing to their own track in their home studio but the song itself is much stronger. They chose a great beat and the two brothers opened and closed the track decently. Phlip did his thing but he’s definitely the weakest out of the three. As per status quo for these fellas, the track is available as a free DL.

Michelle Martinez Releases Debut Album – Adrenaline
The day of the 29th has arrived, and Michelle Martinez’s debut LP – Adrenaline has officially dropped. It’s available from a number of different retailers in both digital and physical formats. I’ve listened to the first half so far and it’s definitely a strong release, but we’ll eventually have a full review up talking all about that. If you are a CD junkie and are a stickler for the best audio quality, you can order the CD here. Or for those of you who prefer the iTunes universe you can get it here. Last but not least you can pick it up from one of my preferred retailers – Amazon.
You can listen to short previews of all the songs after the break.
Jin Interviews w/ the Examiner

Jin has a new text interview out with the Examiner. It isn’t too long but they cover a lot of ground in just a few questions, with topics ranging on events from most of the past decade. They start with some background on Jin’s rise to the top of BET’s freestyle friday, to his major label debut album, to his cantonese projects and working in Hong Kong. Jin continues to explain how his faith plays a strong part in everything that he does and what he has in store in the near future.
You can read the entire article over at the Examiner or after the break.
DFD & Wax Release the MV for ‘Professional Rap’
Dumbfoundead and Wax have dropped another new MV from their Clockwise collab album. This track is called ‘Professional Rap’. Their videos don’t tend to have too many shoot locations but they are still well made and most importantly, match the music perfectly. The karaoke machine scenes were an especially nice touch. And true to their style there is always a bit of humor involved.
Lilian Bui Performs “Sound the Alarm”
I’m loving this clip of Lilian Bui performing in the streets of DC. She is starting up a new video series where she’ll capture impromptu performances and is kicking it off with her original piece entitled “Sound the Alarm”. That girl really knows how to utilize her uke and sounds great. You can look for this song on her debut album, tentatively scheduled for release later this year.
Why confine music to the great indoors when you can take the show on the road? Therein lies the concept of this video and the subsequent ones to follow in the “Lily Bee To-Go” video series (i.e. A chance for me to take my silliness to the streets!) Special thank you to Don Kim and Ominous Ellipses Productions for helping make this video concept a reality. It could not have been done without you! (Apologies for the glitch in the middle of the video. We were operating on low camera battery, so there is a slight hiccup halfway through.)
Featuring original song “Sound the Alarm,” which will be included in the upcoming Lily Bee album after summer 2010 (with my fingers crossed)! I started writing this song in January and finally finished it this month after mulling over some verses. It’s a song about letting go of your inhibitions and sounding the alarm for others to make the best out of life and living!
Hope you guys enjoy, and thank you so much for listening! Thank you for coming back to visit, all your kind comments (especially those of you who personally reach out to me), and for spread the word about my music! I am endlessly grateful and blessed.
Aloha, and there is always more music to come!

Marie Digby Shares New Song – “L.A. (My Home)”
Now this is the Marie Digby that made me a fan in the first place. When she keeps it simple with the instrumentation and just sings a personal song, she truly shines. Here is a new original called “L.A. (My Home)” and as you can guess it’s an ode to the city of angels where she was raised since a toddler. I truly enjoyed this one. It is heartfelt and beautifully arranged. I wish there were more cuts like this on her last album.
As some of you already know, I was raised in Los Angeles..I’ve been here since I was 2 years old and I’ve met so many people who come in and out of the city from different places, chasing after their dreams. In my late teens and early 20′s I met a lot of aspiring musicians (some of whom became my best friends) but I also had to quickly learn that I’d always end up saying goodbye to them in a matter of years. I have watched some careers sky rocket and many dreams shattered as well.. it’s heartbreaking. But while the others come and go, I always remain here .. because Los Angeles IS my home. I understand the allure of this city and see how cold and cruel it can be as well.. it’s fascinating.

Just ‘Cause: Skinny Jeans = Fail
Let’s ignore the fact that I’m of husky stature, but I have never been a fan of the skinny jeans fad going on. That being said, I think pants that sag just above your kneecaps is stupid too but I definitely trend towards the baggy side of the pant size continuum.
This is one of those reasons:
The dude is a fairly big kpop star. That’s just embarrassing. Hilarious, but embarrassing. Let this be a lesson, skinny jeans are not cool on dudes. Man law #345. You hipsters should think twice HAHA.
Kollaboration Houston 2010 MV Released
The competitors of of the first Kollaboration Houston have put together a music video where they remix Justin Bieber’s ridiculously popular single “Baby”. The video serves as a good showcase of the type of talent to expect from the acts when they show takes place July 24th though personally I wasn’t too crazy about this rendition of the song. It loses some of the catchy charm of the original. The kollaboration movement continues!
