Tasha x JK x Roscoe x Dumbfoundead x Tassho Pearce x Epik High x Jay Jaballas & MORE feature on Rakaa’s “Ambassador Slang”

This track is a MUST-LISTEN. Definitely one of the nicest hip-hop tracks I’ve heard this year and it features a TON of artists that we regularly feature on a-Tunes. Rakaa Iriscience has put together this mega track for his upcoming album Crown of Thorns set to drop July 20th. Check out this line up!

Tasha, Tiger JK, Roscoe Umali, Chiefsons, Dumbfoundead, Tassho Pearce, Epik High, Jay Jaballas and King Kapisi all jumped on this beat produced by the one and only DJ Honda.

If you can’t wait to hear the track you’re in luck because it’s now available for streaming on Rakaa’s Myspace; just click on “Ambassador Slang” in the music player.

Jesse Barrera Releases a Youtube MV for “Anything to Make this Last”

At the end of May, Jesse first showed us a new tune he had been working on called “Anything to Make this Last”, though it was just a quick clip shot for the sake of Youtube. But now Jesse has taken it a little further and recorded a full demo version of the track in his home studio and it sounds great! He even took footage of the recording process to compile this makeshift music video of sorts, though he tends to pull a “Wilson” (for those of you who remember Home Improvement) for much of the video. If you like acoustic pop rock I think you’ll love this.

Chloe Wang Releases English Version of the “Uh Oh” MV

Chloe Wang, a rising C-Pop star with roots in Chicago, released her debut hit “Uh Oh” last year. MTV Iggy has gotten a hold of the English version of the same track for her international fans everywhere else. The track is a catchy Pop ditty that takes me back to the hey day of Christina Aguilera/Britney Spears pop stardom. The young singer is definitely making moves and it’s great to see her acknowledge her fans outside of the C-Pop world.

Rino Nakasone x Maryss Release “Jump II”

I’m a little late to post about this but Rino Nakasone and her fellow Beat Freaks crew member Maryss From Paris have dropped this AWESOME remake of the 90′s hit “Jump” by Kris Kross. They inject humor, style, and relevancy to this throwback track making this one of my favorite releases of recent. They even mix in some French and Japanese to boot. The video looked incredibly fun to shoot.

You can DL the track for free here.

PS, I sorta have a curhs on Rino now.

Jason Chen x Jenny Suk Cover “Timeless”

Jason Chen and Jenny Suk have teamed up for a cover collaboration of Justin Guarini and Kelly Clarkson’s ironically named song “Timeless”. Now I’m a Kelly Clarkson fan, and I’ll admit that Justin Guarini has a voice but I’m definitely not a fan of this song. I think there are a lot of better songs to cover.

That being said, Jason and Jenny flex their vocal muscles and do a respectable job and sound good. But considering how poor the source material is and the fact they didn’t really stray from the original makes it hard for me to enjoy this one.

Stevie Hoang Covers “She’s Out of My Life” In Studio Session

With us recently passing the one year mark of MJ’s death, Stevie Hoang has posted up this cover of the classic tune “She’s Out of My Life”, assisted only by a keyboard. Stevie has a similar style of voice to MJ and covers the song impressively. It can’t touch the original but that’s probably not the point. It’s a great tribute to the fallen King of Pop.

Mike Isberto Sings “Awake All Night”

The very talented acoustic singer Mike Isberto is back with a new song called “Awake All Night”. It’s a real slow number but it fits Mike’s style very well, giving us the opportunity to hear the soft nuances in his voice. He may not be a vocal power house but he knows how to use his voice. In my opinion this guy needs to step away from the webcam and release some new studio material!
