Kero One x Sam Ock Drop the MV for “On Bended Knee”

As he indicated, Kero has released the music video for his latest single “On Bended Knee”. The song features none other than Sam Ock. I’m at work so I haven’t had the chance to view it in full but I’ll post my thoughts later tonight. Just wanted to make sure you all get a chance to check it out!

[EDIT] OK so I had the chance to watch it. It’s a simple but dope MV. I’m glad they were able to get Sam into the video as well! And I just had the chance to read the press release on the video and it’s apparantly based on a true event.

From his latest album, Kinetic World, Kero One presents the official first music video entitled On Bended Knee feat. Sam Ock. Written from Kero One’s own personal experiences, On Bended Knee is about finding “the one”  to spend the rest of his life with despite having traveled the world looking for love previously “in all the wrong places.” And if you are wondering what happened with the girl he’s rapping about in the song, she said “yes.”  Their wedding was literally a few days ago. The video was shot and directed by Johnny Le from Portland, Oregon.

Akim of Vox Merger Interview w/ HalfKorean

Anthony Kim aka akim, one half of the hip hop duo Vox Merger, just had an interview published with HalfKorean that breaks down most of the facts you need to know about this rising MC. Not only is he consistent on the music grind, but the guy is in grad school pursuing his Law degree at the same time. Makes me feel lazy. He’s already laid down tracks with some of the vets including FM, Chan, Kato and Illmind to name a few.

Thai x IZ Release the “La La La” Remix

454 Life Entertainment representatives Thai & IZ have dropped a new mixtape track; a remix of “La La La”. They chose a pretty decent beat (Auburn x Iyaz) but the song itself isn’t really memorable. The verses felt like throw a ways, written to fill up the track and not really own it. Regardless, it’ll be available on a mixtape they are dropping this weekend, and as a free DL today. Melissa Polinar Shares New Original – “Never Change”

Ms Polinar has shared a new song called “Never Change” and I only wish it was available for download. The style of song and her voice make it almost dream like, it really has an ethereal like quality. That girl can really pluck away at that guitar too. Some may call this old fashioned but I think it’s just strong folk-pop. Even the lyrics have an earnest innocent quality to them shakes away some of the jadedness in me haha.

Bruno Mars Releases New Single – “Just the Way You Are”

What can I say? Bruno’s done it again. His new single from his upcoming debut album has been released by his label Elektra and it’s a winner. I’m really digging the percussion on this track. The song is a sweet ode to an unnamed female companion and I bet this is gonna make a lot of you ladies swoon. You can hear it below and check for the lyrics after the break.

Alfa Garcia Performs “The Kind of Girl”

Alfa explains that she wrote this song back in 2007 but finally decided to reveal it for the first time a couple days back. This girl is so talented, putting down her guitar and playing the ivories instead. I like the lyrics of the track but this performance clip was a bit rough in certain spots. I’d like to hear a finely tuned studio version with everything ironed out.

Chloe Wang x MTV Iggy Release “Everyday In Between” “Music Video”

So you might be wondering why I put the phrase “Music Video” in quotes in the title. Well Chloe Wang teamed up with MTV Iggy once again, this time putting together a silly music video comprised of webcam footage complete with ridiculous effects. The song in question is “Everyday In Between”, a nice mid-tempo pop ditty.

Don’t take the video seriously, it’s just her and the crew having fun, although it’s good to continue to hear new material from her. Make sure you check out the other footage, pictures, and bloopers from the shoot over at Iggy.

Just ‘Cause: Choz Belen Releases MV for “Her World Goes On” By Justin Michael & Kemal

So the musical artist of this song isn’t Asian or Asian-American, but the director is and quite frankly the visuals here are too sick to not share with you all!

Choz Belen has done it again, bringing his trademark animation style to this music video for the electronic dance song “Her World Goes On” by DJ Justin Michael & Kemal. Simply put, you need to watch this. If you thought his prior work was impressive, the dude has stepped his game up again, crafting a crazy Pandora-like world, and video game-esque visuals. It doesn’t hurt that it’s paired with a catchy song but the visuals steal the show hands down. All you musical artists in need of a unique MV need to get at Choz!

Lyrics Born Announces As U Were Album Release Date, Cover & Single

Lyrics Born next album As U Were has an official release date, October 26th, 2010 and will have the above cover art. LB always has the dopest covers. The album will be released as a joint effort between his own Mobile Home Recordings album in conjunction with the well known Decon Media. But the news only gets better as he’s released the new single “Lies X 3″ for free. You can get it here! Be on the lookout for this album come October.
