Power Struggle Drops the “ArtOfficialFreedom” MV

Power Struggle, a Hip-Hop act out of California, has got a new MV out for their single “ArtOfficialFreedom”. They are fairly well known in some circles but I’m just now starting to get into their music. For those of you like me, this isn’t a bad introduction at all. It’s got that classic Hip-Hop sound and the video is real clean too. God Bless the DSLR. You can find this song off their Remittances album that dropped earlier this year.

City Boy x Tousher Drop the MV for ‘KISS U’

You may know City Boy from the various collabs that he’s been involved in that we’ve posted up. He’s part of a group of urban artists on the come up, a new school of Hip-Hop if you will. He’s joined up with a singer named Tousher for their single “KISS U” off his mixtape “D.E.R.E.Z.”, which apparently received some spins on Arizona radio. Here is the MV they put together for it. In terms of production quality it’s decently done. That being said, I’m not sure how old these fellas are but they def look on the young side. And in the inclusion of seemingly jail bait girls all over the video made me a bit uncomfortable. Like the track? DL it here, or DL the whole mixtape here. Kids grow up to fast nowadays.

Just ‘Cause: Cathy Nguyen x David Choi x WongFu & More Present “The Allergy”

For the 2nd day in a row we have another “Just ‘Cause” feature involving WongFu. Well this one also has a few other of our favorite musicians, namely Cathy Nguyen & David Choi and they bring you an anti smoking PSA. I gotta tell you, it’s friggn hilarious. It takes a lot to make me LOL but I truly did. It’s the same type of funny, uncomfortable, awkward laughter that I get from watching the Office. Without further ado, enjoy “The Allergy”.

Paul Dateh Continues Violince w/ Episode 3: Parody Me that Melody

Paul Dateh picks up the Violince series by once again enlisting the help of Jason Yang and Scott Yoshimoto. To be honest, as childish as these may come across I am thoroughly enjoying them. It brings me back to the slapstick humor days of Looney Toons. Check out Paul & Jason as they continue their hijinks for this 3rd episode entitled Parody Me that Melody.

Snapshot: Erika David x Michelle Martinez Trade Posters

Erika & Michelle

It’s a beautiful thing to see artists support one another, even if some would see them as “competitors”. At a recent event where they both performed, this picture was taken of Erika David and Michelle Martinez, trading signed merch posters of each other. Hopefully this will be a moment remembered down the road as they each make it big. Good music, good friends, what more could you ask for?

Just ‘Cause: Ted Fu of WongFu Proposes at ISA NY 2010

OK. I heard about this on twitter moments after it happened but have been waiting for a visual for the post. Ted and the rest of WongFu may not be musicians per se, but they are some of the most influential guys in the scene by far and deserve a mention for this memorable event. In the middle of throwing a historic first East Coast ISA Show in NY this past weekend, Ted gathered up the courage to ask his gf of three years, Caty, to marry him. He stuttered, and mumbled, and was only semi-coherent but you know what? I gotta give the dude props because it takes cajones to do that in front of thousands of people.

Congrats to Ted & Caty. a-Tunes wishes you an amazing future together!
