Johnnyphlo Releases Remix of Eun Ji Won’s “술김에”

In more Korean-American music news today, Johnnyphlo has dropped a new remix track. He decided to take KPOP artist Eun Ji Won’s “술김에” (roughly translated to “While Buzzed/Drunk”). Like the original, this song has a lot of autotune on it, which I’m usually skeptical of, but Phlo makes it work here – effectively balancing the rap and “sung” parts. This one is available as a free DL as well. Get it here.

I heard Eun Ji Won’s original 술김에 a few months ago and fell in love with it. People ask me what I think of him as a rapper and I tell them that I think he’s talented – so when I heard the original, I was expecting a rap verse but I guess he decided to not to rap on this track. I love remixing K-pop songs and showing what I can do with it. Enjoy the track!

Sean Rhee Releases “아버지”

Sean Rhee has dropped a new track entitled “아버지” which is Korean for Father. In the context of this song, he’s referring to the Heavenly Father as he expresses the struggles of his faith. It’s a pretty good listen but just a note: there is literally no English in this track. I honestly have no clue what the song album art is about though.

You can listend and DL it for free via the widget below.

afterschoolspecial x Paul Dateh x Wong Fu Collab for “Name” MV

It’s official, afterschoolspecial is putting together a music video for their track “Name” off their Not One for Words EP. But the news doesn’t end there… they retooled the track, adding in some strings instrumentation by the one and only Paul Dateh and have enlisted the help of WongFu Productions to shoot the video. That’s a pretty exciting combination of talent and I can’t wait till the final MV drops!

You can check out some pictures from the shoot courtesy of Brian Figueroa.
