454 Releases Debut Album – As Real As It Gets

The indie label 454 Life Entertainment has been busy, very busy, in 2010 and the day has finally come where they’ve dropped their first compilation album – As Real As It Gets. After countless single leaks, MVs, parties and promotions you can now pick up this West Coast collective’s album complete with 19 tracks. It’s available via their website or digital download from iTunes or AmazonMP3.

Dante Fawkes Releases the “I’m Beamin” Remix

Dante Fawkes has decided to put his own spin to Lupe Fiasco’s single “I’m Beamin“. Lupe is generally one of my favorites so its hard to try and remix one of his tracks but Dante does a pretty decent job. In fact only thing I wasn’t really feeling was his hook, which lacked polish, but the verses were on point. Plus it does’t hurt he chose a sick beat to jack too. Free for DL.

KPOP Star Taeyang Goes International with the English MV for “I’ll Be There”

Taeyang, whose material is no stranger to many Asian-American artists in the states, seems to have international cross-over status in his sights and has released a new track in both Korean & English entitled “I’ll Be There” off his Solar International Album. You can see the official MV below, complete with “Thriller”-esque visuals and dance. What do you guys think? I’m sure the KPOP fans will love it but what about everyone else?

Lil Crazed x Krystle Cruz Release the MV for “By Your Side”

Back in May Lil Crazed dropped his Chapter 2: Famine mixtape, including the track “By Your Side” featuring Krystle Cruz. It’s one of the stronger tracks on the album and a great pop/R&B jam. Today they released the official MV for the song. It’s nowhere near as polished as the song itself but it does the job. No outfit changes, few locations, no effects… you can tell they did what they could and it didn’t turn out too bad, all things considered.

This song features Krystle Cruz, a very talented singer. The hook was written by Joanlee and produced by Flash Beats. The song is featured on my Chapter 2: Famine mixtape. The video was shot at Long Beach with cameos by Michelle Martinez, R. Productions, Joanlee and a few others. Also keep in mind, this was a NO budget music video. Enjoy!

FM Releases the Video Remix for “Like a G6″

It’s been a little over two months since FM dropped their official MV for “Like a G6″ but they’ve put up a new remix of both the track and the video by Disco Fries & Video DJ Crush. Is it any better than the original? Not really… though for those of you who like the original and wouldn’t mind hearing/seeing a slighly different spin on it, I’m sure you’ll dig it.

Maybe I’m just getting tired of the promotions of a track that dropped in November of last year.

Paul Dateh Presents Violince Ep. 2 Featuring Jason Yang

The contemporary Youtube Violin world can’t be too large, which is why in my mind I always wondered what a showdown between Paul Dateh and Jason Yang would look like. Well, in a way I got to find out. Continuing his “Violince” series, Paul brings on Jason Yang for a little slapstick action, all set to the tunes of their stringed instruments. It’s silly and fun but I’d still love to see them thrown down musically.

Note: Scott Yoshimoto is behind the cam on this one.

See behind the scenes here.

Congrats to Sam Ock & Lan for Winning the ISA Breakout Performer Contest!

The 2nd installment of the ISA Breakout Performer contest results are in and it looks like Sam Ock & Lan are this years winners! (The inaugural contest was won by a little someone known as Clara Chung). This is an awesome moment for both musicians as the competition was fierce including other immensely talented artists like Esna Yoon and 2 other finalists along with 5 other semi-finalists. I’m sure it was incredibly tough to choose the winner but Sam & Lan took top honors along with the opportunity to perform at ISA LA & NY respectively. Here are the two winning videos:

Jane Lui Shares Next Album Cover for “Goodnight Company”

Jane Lui is actively at work in getting ready to release her next album. It’s not quite time to hear the songs yet but for those of you who are getting anxious you can at least check out the album cover! Also, as part of the cover we now know the title – Goodnight Company. She’s an incredible musician and I’m eagerly awaiting the release of this LP!

JL x Lyricks x DJ Zo Performance of “Move Along” Posted

Some more performance footage of the Beautiful Cycle crew has surfaced courtesy of Inspire. This track’s entitled “Move Along” by JL and features some of his entourage in form of Lyricks and DJ Zo. The track can be found on his Guaranteed Raw mixtape. The thing I’ve come to realize is that JL is a sick lyracist with a no-nonsense flow that sounds great on record but his performance energy and stage presence could use some work. He’s too reserved up there; the guy needs to let loose.

Showdown: Megan Lee x Gerald Ko vs Vincent Lacsamana

In a little bout of East vs West we have a Showdown of covers by veteran Youtubers Megan Lee & Gerald Ko against a bit of a new comer from the East – Vincent Lacsamana. The song in contention is “Count on Me” by Bruno Mars off his It’s Better If You Don’t Understand EP. Both covers made use of the acoustic guitar and are somewhat similar in style but definitely different in flavor. So whose rendition did you prefer? Megan & Gerald’s sweet, gentle charm or Vincent’s solo pop/r&b charisma? Vote!
