Joanlee x Lil Crazed x Krystle Cruz x Michelle Martinez Drop MV for “Get Familiar”

In this big collab, Joanlee, Lil Crazed, Krystle Cruz, and Michelle Martinez use the beat from Chris Brown’s “Deuces” and put together their own song they call “Get Familiar”. I wasn’t feeling Joanlee’s singing parts, it came off distracting. Michelle and Krystle on the other hand are strong singers but their parts felt out of place until the very end where it all finally came together a little bit. I thought Crazed had the strongest contribution overall but the entire song wasn’t as cohesive as I hoped it would be. The idea was much stronger on paper than the execution. Too bad, they’re all talented but this collab was just aight for me.

Connie Lim Presents the MV for “Sugar”

Judging from the previews, we knew the music video for Connie Lim’s “Sugar” off her EP The Hunted wasn’t going to be your typical MV – but that doesn’t even begin to describe it now that the final version has been released. It’s so trippy and creative you should watch it for the artistic value alone. I’m sure there’s so much imagery, symbolism, and metaphorical meaning behind the scenes that I can’t even fathom a guess. Either that or they just had a crazy fun time wild’n out with paint, costumes and props. I kinda wish the paint drum scene was entirely in slo-mo… it was hypnotizing.

New Music from Dumbfoundead – “Summer Fling”

It’s been a little while since Dumb dropped a new song, but he aims to send Summer off in style with “Summer Fling”, produced by EOM and featuring scratches by DJ Zo. The track plays off of the plot from the classic film Grease. It’s light, it’s enjoyable, it’s summer. And best of all it’s a free DL here.

454′s “Family Affair” MV Released

It’s another MV from 454′s DVD. The song is “Family Affair”, off the As Real as it Gets album and features IZ, Drew, Nump, Thai and Suryil on the hook again. It’s a pretty catchy track, the MV is just a bunch of scenes of the crew having fun around the dinner table, along with a continuation of the cop motif from previous videos. I like the song itself more than the MV.

Rocky Rivera Reveals MV for “Trick Habit”

It’s already been a couple months since we saw the teaser, but the day has finally come for the full release of Rocky Rivera’s music video for “Trick Habit”. This is another Kid Heroes/Xylophone production. The teaser looked promising but I’ll have to wait till after work to view the MV and give my two pennies. The song is off her self titled album.

Singer Bruno Mars Arrested For Drug Possession

In a surprising and unfortunate turn of events, it’s being reported that Bruno Mars was arrested in Vegas early Sunday morning after a show in Vegas. Details are sparse for now but it appears he was confronted by authorities and found to be in posession of an unnamed narcotic. If the charges are true, this is a sad set back for the rising star.

According to the Las Vegas Journal-Review, the 23-year-old singer (born Peter Gene Hernandez), who is preparing to drop his full-length solo debut, Doo-Wops & Hooligans, next month, was arrested at 2:40 a.m. on Sunday, after security at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino confronted him in a bathroom and allegedly found him to be in possession of narcotics.

At press time a spokesperson for the Las Vegas Police Department could not be reached for confirmation of the arrest or for information on what drugs Mars is said to have possessed at the time of his arrest.
