Like many artists before her, Amanda Lee is making use of a great fundraising campaign to help fund her debut musical project. She’s putting together an EP but it takes a lot of resources and backing that most indie artists just don’t have the luxury of having. Independence presents a predicament in that a musician can have full total control over thier craft but no viable way to bring their visions to fruition. This is where you come in. If you are a fan and want to support Amanda (who btw is fresh off her 2nd place win at Kollaboration DC), then contribute to her to her Pledge Music fund. You can hear a sample of her work (“Beauty of Failing”) on the page along with the list of exclusives available to those who contribute.

Heather Park Releases New Album – Stay
It’s been quite some time since Heather Park revealed her single “Trust You”, but the album it belongs to has finally dropped. Currently it is available from CD Baby, but look for it from other digital distributors soon. The album has 13 songs, 12 original and 1 remix. If the rest of the album is half as strong as the lead single then it should be a fairly solid release overall. For those of you in need of a new R&B fix, grab a copy and support her!
Tony T Nguyen x Poreotics Collab in “Pushing the Limits”
Check out this cool performance art clip featuring musician Tony T Nguyen and Poreotics Crew member Can Nguyen. Tony takes care of all the music behind the scenes while Can presents his interpretation of the instrumentation through dance expression. The video doesn’t have so much “wow” factor as it does an interesting artistic authenticity. I wish it were a bit longer though. I feel like it ends before it ever gets a chance to really take off.
Alexander Spit Releases Remix of “Tea Leaf Dancers” [Free DL]

Alexander Spit has posted up a free download of his “Tea Leaf Dancers” Remix. Grab it while the link is still available because I have no clue how long it’ll be up. It’s a chill track that is perfect to vibe to. I’ve come to be a pretty big fan of this dude’s style. It’s never forced and very laid back. The song is fairly short though, clocking in at barely over two minutes. You can DL it for free HERE and hear for yourself.

Sickboi Shares “Ups & Downs”
Virginia based MC Sickboi has posted up a new track that he recorded over a korean hip-hop beat by PE2NY called “Ups and Downs”. It’s a social commentary track that takes a look at the current state of times and the experiences that many of us have gone through in recent years. I’m liking this one. It’s good to hear a track that actually speaks about a relevant topic.
Clara Chung Releases Debut Album & Music Video
After months of preparation and an ever increasing buzz, Clara Chung has finally dropped her debut full length LP entitled The Art in My Heart along with the accompanying music video for her hit song “Offbeat”. The album is 10 tracks deep and judging from what we’ve heard so far, it’s a very strong release. You can puchase her album here.
I’ll add my thoughts on the video later tonight! But for now check it out below and see behind the scenes footage here.
[Update] OK, not to sound like a complete fanboy but I loved this MV. It fits the style of the song perfectly and has a great mix of scenes. The video isn’t overly complicated but simple and effective and captures the breezy essence of the song perfectly. Props to Clara and her team for putting together such a great release. [/update]
