Chip Han Wins Kollaboration DC, Amanda Lee & Trus Real Place as Runner Ups

Amanda Lee, Chip Han, Trus Real

We’ll have a full review out later this week on the historic first Kollaboration DC event, but to be 100% frank with you it was a great night of music to remember. But what you SHOULD know now is, Chip Han, a beat boxer from VA has taken top honors and is the FIRST ever Kollaboration DC winner. He stunned the crowd with an incredible routine.

Second place went to the very talented Amanda Lee who did an acoustic set coupled with a repeater. All of the judges (including yours truly, were very impressed).

And third place went to Trus Real, who held it down with an awesome hometown anthem dedicated to the DMV (DC, Maryland, VA).

All of the acts did an incredible job and it was tough coming up with the winners but everyone should walk away proud. I, GT, am completely honored to have been apart of this awesome event.

Joseph Vincent Remixes Cee Lo Green’s “F**k You!” [Free DL]

Recent Catch Adventures signee Joseph Vincent has posted up a new cover/remix, singing the infectiously catchy “F**k You!” by Cee Lo Green. Joseph sounds as smooth as ever but honestly the song loses some of it’s original charm and energy when stripped down so much. The humor of the song isn’t conveyed quite as effectively here. But either way you can DL it here for free!

Paperdoll’s Teresa is AAM’s Angry Reader of the Week

Rockband Paperdoll may be most recognized by front woman Teresa Lee, and that’s one of the reasons why she’s this week’s feature on AAM. Per usual, this interview is short but it’s pretty darn humorous and an entertaining read. I can dig it when a girl’s got a biting sense of humor. Be sure to read on after the break!

News Quickies 9-24-10: “Just the Way You Are” Cover Edition

Soooo, this is getting a bit crazy. Bruno Mars has quickly become one of the most covered artists on Youtube. I log into Youtube and my subscription yields a ton of singers doing a rendition of one of his songs. I swear to you, it’s at least one new video every day. And most of them are of “Just the Way You Are”. Typically I would do a showdown, but it’s already been done for this song!

Instead of posting about each one I’ve decided to condense it into one post.

First we got David Choi singing and playing on the banjo (as he did for his FM cover).

Next is Traphik doing a parody . I thought it was pretty hilarious actually. He calls it “Only From Afar”.

Kina Grannis. This one is def one of my favorites.

JRA Shares New Original – “Take My Hand”

If you were looking for some new JRA material you’re in luck. The singer/song writer has posted up a new youtube clip of him singing a song called ” Take My Hand”, doing his thing in what appears to be Vegas. As the status quo for most of his YT videos, this one is an all acoustic, guitar performance but the song is pretty strong and I think most of you will enjoy it.

Lyrics after the break.

Check out the FM Profile by Myspace Music

This is part EPK, part interview feature but check out the latest clip of the Far East Movement in this clip by Myspace. If you’ve been keeping up with the group I doubt you’ll hear/see anything you haven’t already heard before besides a SUPER quick preview of their next single with Ryan Tedder entitled ‘Rockateer’.

Elise Estrada Releases the “You’re So Hollywood” MV

Candian artist Elise Estrada has a new video that debuted this week on Much Music for her single “You’re So Hollywood”. The MV stabs fun at all those various crime shows like CSI, along with cuts of Elise singing among different scenes and props. It’s your typical, goofy, cheesy pop video. It looks like she had fun making it but honestly I’m not a fan of the “rap” parts. You can view the video at Much Music for now. If a youtube or embeddable video shows up, we’ll post it here.

[update] Here’s the Youtube version of the MV [/update]

DFD x Wax Release the “Walking in the Rain” MV

We showed you the preview, now check out the actual full release of Dumbfounded and Wax’s “Walking in the Rain“. This is another single off their Clockwise joint album. They make heavy use of the green screen to bring us a surreal MV coupled with plenty of animated effects. The entire production is fairly impressive considering they are an indie effort with no studio backing. The water effects on the “camera lens” is a nice touch too. Overall it matches the song well and stands out as one of the more creatively ambitious videos of the year.

Jay Park Interviews w/ Soompi

Soompi had the chance to sit down with Jay Park for an extended interview where fans had the opportunity ask him various questions. They cover a lot of different topics since his fans have a lot of fans. One of the more interesting questions is about his preference for dancing or singing. I’m sure any Jay Park fan will appreciate this clip.
