Jaeson Ma Drops New Single – “Glory”

Jaeson Ma, known for his song “Love” featuring Bruno Mars among many other things, has finally dropped a new single in the form of a song called “Glory” featuring Caleb. It follows a similar formulate to “Love” in that Jaeson spits his psuedo rap/spoken word mix over anthem style production and accompanied by a male vocalist to round out the mix. The style may not be everyone but it’s clear the message he shares has touched a lot of people, and I expect a similar reaction for this single too. Here’s what Jaeson has to say about the track:

The single is set to drop on 11/11 (his birthday) but it looks like Amazon jumped the gun a little and it’s already available there. iTunes users should be able to get it in just a few hours time as it hits the 11th world wide. And lastly, Happy Birthday Jaeson!

Notorious MSG Interviews w/ ChannelAPA

The good folks at ChannelAPA have landed an interview with the group Notorious MSG and as expected, it’s a hilarious clip. The trio are like an asian, zany, musical version of Stephen Colbert, never breaking character and always representing the image they’ve crafted for nearly the last decade. Of course it wouldn’t be an MSG interview without some ridiculous quotable and one-liners, so check it out as it’s worth the view for the entertainment value alone!

Those of you in the DMV and mid-atlantic, here’s a big event you’re not going to want to miss. Dumbfoundead and his requisite partner in crime DJ Zo will be performing at the House of Fame event in Fairfax VA on Saturday – November 11th, 2010. JRA x Tori Kelly x AJ Rafael Cover FM’s “Rocketeer” [Free DL]

Youtube stars AJ Rafael and JRA team up with Tori Kelly (Whom you may have seen briefly on American Idol) for a cover of FM’s latest single “Rocketeer” originally featuring Ryan Tedder. I’m loving this collab as it flips the style of the song into a semi-jazzy acoustic pop number and even features a little rap from AJ. What? AJ rapping? That’s right… so don’t miss out! They all sound great together and def did the song justice. You can DL the song for free here.

XL Middleton x Clinton Wayne Release the “Gold and Purple” MV

A couple days we posted about two rap remixes of Wiz Khalifa’s “Black and Yellow” but another one was just posted up by XL Middleton and Clinton Wayne. This one is entitled “Gold and Purple” and is an ode to what else? The LA Lakers of course. I thought the video footage itself was dull, but they did a good job of making sure the color palate matches the song. I’m a bit indifferent on this release… mainly cause I’m not from LA and was never really big on the Lakers. Don’t ask me why but I’ve been a Spurs fan since a kid so meh. =)

Jae Jin Drops Debut Single – “Let Go” [Free DL]

Jae Jin - "Let Go"

We’ve posted about Baltimore singer Jae Jin before, but aspiring musician has just officially released his debut single “Let Go”. It’s a dance pop tune that strays a bit from his typical bluesy R&B youtube covers but shows some versatility in his repertoire.  Here’s what Jae Jin had to say about his debut effort:

I co-wrote and co-produced the track from scratch along with an up-and-coming Baltimore-based production duo known as Infinite Track Minds. One thing every listener can agree with is that sometimes, letting go can be a hard thing to do. This song attempts to capture this very dilemma through different situations. Ultimately its about letting go to move forward.

It’s a fairly catchy tune though it’s begging for a pumped up remix. Maybe we’ll have something to look forward to! You can check out the song via the youtube video below. If you like what you hear, you’re in luck because it’s also available as a free DL here.
