Kina Grannis teamed up with singer DeStorm for a fun cover of the Donnie Hathaway classic “This Christmas”. The arrangement is completely original and organic, with a ton of layers, beat boxing, percussion and vocals. She acts so cute in this video too, with her hip-hop adlibs and fun antics. Loved this clip, pluuuuuuuussss… it’s a free DL, so grab it via the widget below!

Andrew Figueroa Chiang Releases Self Titled EP

Acoustic pop singer Andrew Figueroa Chiang has just dropped a self titled debut. This is his first ever EP and after briefly listening to it I have to say it’s a pretty strong release. It’s 5 songs deep and you can DL it from bandcamp for an appropriately priced 5 bucks. The album is a little bit Jason Mraz, a little bit The Script and maybe even a little Beatles thrown in there. It’s a decent mix if you ask me. Stream and purchase the album via the widget below!
Kevin Kaho Tsui Releases the MV for “No Christmas for Her”
Do you remember that MV we shared a little over a month ago that was completely shot on an iPhone? Well as impressed as we were, you could tell that indie artist Kevin Kaho Tsui was limited by the technological medium used. But this time around it looks like he’s decided to step up his Video game and brings us a new MV – making extensive use of a DSLR. The video is definitely much sharper but suffers some of the same pacing flaws as his prior work. But at least it’s much prettier to look at. The song is pretty decent too though I’m not too sure it’s something I’ll have on repeat.

Esna Yoon Features on Tim’s 5th Album – New Beginnings
Korean American Tim has made a name for himself over the later half of last decade in the KPOP world, crooning his way into the spotlight. It’s been said that talent recognizes talent and perhaps that’s why two of the tracks on his latest album feature up and coming singer Esna Yoon from LA. She features on track 8 (“닭살 커플”) and track 11 (“He Said, She Said (No Other Way) – which is more or less an english version of the song. We’re thrilled to see Esna link up with a talented and established artist such as Tim. Hopefully this is just another step in her path to the top!

Scott Yoshimoto x Joseph Vincent x Carissa Rae Release “Summer Romance”

Filmmaker/musician Scott Yoshimoto continues his family-friendly pop brand of music with the release of his single “Summer Romance” featuring Joseph Vincent and Carissa Rae. The song is almost a throw back to 70′s sitcom music, with plenty of horns and a retro bass and percussion line. It’s a fun song but there is a certain element of “cheese” surrounding it that may turn some people off. You can hear it for free over at Scott’s Tumblr and if you want a copy for yourself, hit up iTunes.
Joseph Vincent & Jason Chen(JDC) – Hold My Hand (Cover)
Jason Chen and Joseph Vincent are back at it again with collab #2! I think they will start a new cover craze. You guys know what I’m talking about, where every YouTube artist covers the same song. Let’s just say I think Joseph & Jason’s cover will be one of the best! The only group I can think that will be able to match theirs will be KurtHugoSchneider, if he chooses the right people. Anyways where was I, oh yeah I think the video is great! It’s simple and sweet, they didn’t need a fancy background or anything. Hey the last cover they did together has over 5 million views, who needs a fancy background? They sang very well together and harmonized almost perfectly. You can support them by buying the song off of iTunes here.
Triangle Offense Interviews w/ WWS Mag

West coast centric publication WWS Mag showed the Jersey boys Triangle Offense some love and recently featured them in a new interview. There’s a lot of industry talk here, so for those of you unfamiliar with the grind indie musicians have to deal with, this is a good read. You also get to read up on some of their upcoming work and future plans. Catch it in full after the jump or head on over to WWS.

Sean Rhee Releases New Single – “The One” [Free DL]

It’s only been a couple weeks since we last heard from Korean American MC Sean Rhee, but here’s a new single called “The One” – a slow Hip-Hop track that I think most of you will enjoy. I’m really digging the beat selection and Rhee’s flow is on point, making a solid song overall. As with most of his releases, this song is written primarily in Korean. You can stream and DL the song for free via the widget below.
