Jay Park Releases a “6’7′” Remix

Someone enlisted Jay into a crash course for rap because he continues to show significant improvement with every drop. His flow is more polished than ever and his punches have gone from mostly slightly corny to mostly pretty decent. This is also the most uncensored we’ve ever heard him, in stark contrast to his clean boy-band days from just a year or so ago. If he keeps up this rate, he’s gonna be a rap heavyweight soon enough.

City Boy x R Kelly Release “City Boy” Single [Free DL]

Wow. I’m not completely sure how this single came to be, but if this is an official look from Kelz, than that’s a huge co-sign for City Boy. The two are on CB’s latest self titled single, off an upcoming mixtape set to drop next month. It’s a pretty decent drop from the 1/3 Illmocity representative. Didn’t know he had such a buzz growing over there in Chi-town. Don’t sleep, cause it’s a free DL.

GOWE Releases New Single – “Say Hello”

Seattle’s GOWE has dropped a new official single called “Say Hello”. I tend to really like this guy’s choice in beats and that hasn’t changed though I’m not completely convinced he used it to its fully potential. The verses were fine but in my opinion the track was screaming for a melodic hook. I think a great singer on the chorus would have made all the difference between a decent track and a great one. You can purchase the single for a buck via the widget below.

DFD Spits Bubba Kush (“Knock Out” Beat)

Dumbfoundead goes off on this beat, he was very lyrical in the video.  The instrumentals you hear is something you wouldn’t suspect.  Even though the instrumentals sounded very space like, DFD made it sound appealing with his verses.  If the beat wasn’t in the instrumentals, the video wouldn’t have been as good as well.  Theres not much more to say but enjoy the music and expect a lot from DFD in the year 2011.

AM Kidd Releases “Somebody Special” Music Video

About 2 months ago I posted a video by AM Kidd called “Somebody Special” but it was just him and a piano.  Even though he released the video in September of 2010, he still created a music video for the song.  The MV was so simple but interesting, from the party to AM Kidd playing the piano in the dark while rapping was intriguing.  Sometimes simple and sweet is the answer.  Also the added beat to the song makes it more enjoyable to listen too.  If you like the song, support AM Kidd by buying it off of iTunes here.

David Choi x Ryan Higa x JRA Release Comedy Single & MV – “I’m Hardcore”

What do you get when you mix Youtube staples David Choi, Ryan Higa, JRA, rap, and autotune? Well… pretty much everything you’d expect. Here’s a ridiculous but humorous number from the trio featuring some cameos from some of the fellas of Wong Fu & Quest Crew. This is more akin to the SNL Digital Shorts that pop up once in a while. If this tickled your funny bone, you can purchase the single here.

Just ‘Cause: Fan Makes Short Video Interlude to Decipher x Ailee’s “Catch Me If You Can”

I dunno about you, but I really enjoy Decipher x Ailee’s “Catch Me If You Can“, and it looks like I’m definitely not the only one. One of the their fans decided to take it upon themselves and make a short video interlude by completely flipping the song and putting it to some crazy visuals. The man behind the project, LX Keem, did some impressive work. It’d be dope to see an official project together with everyone involved! What do you guys think?

Illmind Interviews w/ ChannelAPA

Here’s another producer interview brought to you by the good people at ChannelAPA. Are you familiar with Illmind? Well you should, because chances are very good that you’ve heard some of his production somewhere. For anyone trying to make it in the business as a producer, or even as a musician as a whole, you should check this out. Ill’s got so much experience to share and it’s dope to hear about it straight from the horse’s mouth.

On a side note, this guy looks so much like my cousin haha.

Jason Chen Releases Official Debut Single & MV – “Just For a Moment”

Jason Chen’s come a long way in the past year or so, and the day has come where he’s dropped his first official solo single & MV. The track is called “Just For a Moment” featuring Holly AnnAeRee as the leading lady. Song wise I have to admit, this is the first time I could really visualize Jason Chen as more than a youtube cover artist with a boy-band voice. It’s a pretty strong R&B single and I think he did great with his official debut. The video is textbook Jason. Sharp visuals, above average editing, but otherwise a little dull. It could have used some more locations and fleshing out of the story but at least we can all agree the video is pretty to look at (leading lady included). Support the guy and pick up the song on iTunes.
