JRA Shares a New Tune – “Handle with Care”

Artists, like all other people, need some down time too. On a recent cruise vacation, the singer known as JRA wrote a new single he calls “Handle with Care”. It’s all about appreciating the subtle joys of being in a relationship. I think it’s a really strong single and would sound great in a fully tracked studio version. He puts his signature R&B vocals to the acoustic guitar track and as usual, it makes a great combination. It’s good to hear new music from the refreshed JR Aquino. Looking forward to more releases from him this year.

Passion Passionately Sings His Original “I Don’t Care”

I’m no expert on love but you can tell this man really cares for his girlfriend.  At first when I saw the title, it kind of threw me off but once I heard him say it was dedicated to his girlfriend and hear him sing, you knew that he was going to sing passionately.  I think his musician name really fits him because every video, he gives it his all.  I’m pretty sure a lot of the ladies love his voice.  Enjoy the original, I know I’ll be listening to this for a while.

Geo of Blue Scholars Features on “Focus” By Logics [Free DL]

I dunno about you, but I’m a huge fan of Geo aka Prometheus Brown of Blue Scholars. Well the very talented MC has lent his talent to a new record by Logics called Focus. The song features a soulful hook by Adrian Sims. It’s a pretty dope hip-hop record and both MC’s held their own, but then again I’ve come to expect nothing less from Geo and those associated with him. This song had me nodding my head the whole time. The track is a free DL, so get it here. Not bad, not bad at all.

LA Examiner Names Clara C as One of the “Twenty to Watch in 2011″

Anyone who frequents our fair site knows that Clara C is the real deal when it comes to talent. Apparently The LA Examiner agrees as one of their writers has named her to be one of the “Twenty to Watch in 2011″. Clara had a break out year in 2010 but could this be the year that she pushes through to the main stream conciousness? Maybe, but either way we think it’s going to be a very exciting ride for the skyrocketing musician. Her buzz only continues to grow! You can check out the article in full either after the break or by heading on over to the LA Examiner.

Far East Movement Releases Short Film for the “Rocketeer” Remix

We’re a little late in posting this but either way… there’s very little doubt that FM lives and breathes to rep the city of angels. And they continue to prove that with their latest collaboration piece, a short film set to a remix of their hit single “Rocketeer”. It’s a stripped down version of the original complete with more LA specific visuals and animation. It’s definitely more stylized than the official video, including cameos from people like Snoop. It’s a dope visual arts piece and special props to DPD for putting it all together.

When we did the song Rocketeer off our Free Wired album, it was inspired by how we grew up in Downtown LA as LA Dreamers living on a dream and never knowing where it would take you. We wanted to paint a portrait of where we live, from where we started, to the free wired mashed up community of dreamers that make up LA. We linked up with our neighbor, DPD of Transparent Agency, and went around with a camera to capture our home… then hooked up the same sound set up of old mics and amps we first used to rehearse on, and recorded this live remix in the old backroom to give it a sound like when we first started makin music. Made this for dreamers world wide…
