Tiger JK x T x Roscoe Umali x Illmind x Styliztik Jones form New Super Group – SUNZOO

Tiger JK, Tasha, Roscoe Umali, Styliztik Jones, and Illmind have been hinting at this project for MONTHS but it’s all finally come together. You are witnessing the formation of a new super group called SUNZOO featuring artists from two different countries, of various nationalities, all ripping it in the name of Hip-Hop. There are a few more names attached to the project, including old school Drunken Tiger DJ James Jhig and Rik Codero. They will be promoted via Korean broadcast TV. Check out the first two MV’s for the songs “On & On” and “My Time” respectively. This is an epic project, and I can’t wait to here more from them.

Lyricks Drops a “Truthful Lie”

Can someone please tell Lyricks to slow down? The guy has dropped numerous projects in the past week alone, more than we heard from him for months in the past! It’s another “Music VLido” from SuperNoVA, with the added bonus of production courtesy of Tripmaster Monk. I hope he expands this joint into a full track cause I’m digging the slow, jazzy feel. Watch for the cameo by Francis Kang towards the end.

GOWE x Erin Kim Raising Money to Finish “Stars in My Eyes”

For those of you who have been keeping up with the Kollaboration movement, you may remember a short promo clip featuring GOWE & Erin Kim. The project was called “Stars in My Eyes” and there never was a full-length single made. I, among many people, have always wondered why and was hoping to see an official drop and it looks like we may get to see that happen. Like many other artists, GOWE & Erin are turning to you, the fans for help in funding the project. You can find more information at their kickstarter page.

In 2010, Kollaboration Seattle contestants Gowe and Erin Kim collaborated on a short song intended to be a promotional track. Due to heavy demand we have decided to finish the song but we need your help.

In order for us to complete the song we have to raise $2,000 ($2,200 including Kickstarter fees) to pay for mixing/engineering and production costs. None of the donations will go towards Gowe or Erin Kim. It is simply to pay for the producer fee and studio time. If we exceed our goal of $2,000 (for just the audio) and reach $3,200 it will also cover the cost of a full video.

You guys demanded it and here’s your chance to make the full track possible!

AM Kidd Drops New Single – “Love Rain”

If you’re an AM Kidd fan you’re probably already familiar with his penchant for performing Hip-Hop songs accompanied only by a keyboard. In my opinion it’s a refreshing way to tackle the genre, opening it up to a number of interesting new opportunities. His latest track “Love Rain” continues that trend. Though this was one of many songs by released over the past couple days in honor of V-Day, I think this is one that will stand the test of time and will continue to be a hit afterwards. If you’re feeling it you can purchase the song for a $1 via the widget below.

Surrilla Drops New Tracks – “Love Songs are Dead” & “Angels”

Surrilla is back, dropping two tracks over the last few days. One is called “Love Songs are Dead” and features Ariano on the hook. This one is a moody, alternative Hip-Hop track that fits Surrilla’s style well. The hook is an especially nice touch. Not sure if this song is for everyone but if you’re a Hip-Hop head with an open mind I think you’ll enjoy it. You can DL the song for free via the widget below. It will also be available in March off the Partners in cRhyme mixtape.

New MV from Michelle Martinez – “Take Me Away”

Michelle Martinez is definitely on her indie artist grind. For this release she not only utilized her trademark vocals but mastered the track, and shot & edited the MV. The song is called “Take Me Away” and is a pretty slow jam reminiscent of old school R&B. It’s not perfect but it ain’t bad for a girl who took care of everything on her own in 2 days time. Loving the throwback instrumental by Smashhitta. My only complaint is the weird aspect ratio of the video. The song is also a freebie, available here.

OnFire x Lil Crazed x Rocky Sandoval Release the “Falling Up” MV [Free DL]

We haven’t heard from On Fire in a while but they’ve got a new collab out with Lil Crazed for a track called “Falling Up”. Crazed is definitely the strongest MC of them all but in general this isn’t the most lyrical song… nor is it meant to be. It’s a decent poppy rap track that’s fairly catchy, in big part due to the great beat selection. The MV is a bit uninspired though. Quality is above average but the video is more or less an excuse for attractive girls to flaunt their “assets”. Not that some of you will mind one bit haha. The song is available for free DL.

Jae Jin x Elle x J. Han Release New Single – “Stand with Me” [Free DL]

Here’s a surprise collabo coming out of the mid-Atlantic. Jae Jin linked up with singer Elle & rapper J. Han (of AMP) for this R&B/Hip-Hop ballad called “Stand with Me”. Production was co-handled by Sky Muzik & iTM. It’s a soothing track that only suffers from a few technical choices. I liked the blueprint of the song but thought the instrumentation and mixdown could have used just a little more polish. There’s a difference between sounding like a throwback and sounding dated, and this one leaned a little more towards the latter. On the other hand the vocalists sounded great, and Elle in particular matched the feel of the track well. Overall it’s a a pretty decent song PLUS you can DL the song for free here.

New Original from AJ Rafael – “Red Roses”

Here’s a light hearted new tune from AJ Rafael, who reportedly wrote this in the car on the way home from UCLA. It has his trademark sound and charm but definitely could use some fleshing out in the studio. Anyway, check out the Valentine inspired tune below. Who knows, maybe this will be the next tune turned MV like his recently released “We Could Happen“.
