Passport: Chloe Wang Stars in KPOP Group Big Bang’s “Tonight” MV

Hm, what an interesting turn of events. I’m a casual KPOP fan but never got around to checking out the new MV from KPOP group Big Bang for their song “Tonight”. But then I saw an article about the leading lady and it turns out CPOP star and Chicago native Chloe Wang played the love interest for the 5 fellas – to the chagrin of millions of fan girls all over the world. Good for her, it’s great exposure and I’m sure thousands of people who didn’t know about her before know about her now. Let’s hope this will only give her a boost in her own career!

Just ‘Cause: Di Moon Zhang Reveals Choreo to FM’s “If I Was You”

This is one of those things that’s too cool not to share. Di Moon Zhang, an individual well known in the dancing/choreograph world, has revealed some new moves set to the song “If I Was You (OMG)” by the Far East Movement – off their Free Wired album. I’m not exactly an expert on the subject matter, but DMZ & his partner looked pretty impressive to me. Check out what I mean below.

Justin Nozuka Re-Releases “Heartless”; Now Featuring India.Arie

The song “Heartless” is one of my favorites from Canada’s Justin Nozuka, but he’s given us yet another reason to love it. Today he’s just dropped the remix that now features Grammy award winning soul singer India.Arie. An odd match on paper perhaps, but you know what? It works. They changed up the instrumental a good amount but I.A still finds away to inject her sultry vocals into this pop-rock number. I can dig it. Get the song from iTunes or AmazonMP3!

Snapshot: Brian Joo on the Cover of KoreAm

Brian Joo x KoreAm

Time for another Snapshot! Pretty cool. Brian Joo, Korean-American KPOP super star and former member of Fly to the Sky. has landed the cover of the latest issue of KoreAm Magazine. He’s not the first AA artist to grace their cover but he definitely joins an elite list of musicians. For those of you who don’t know of KoreAm, they are a fantastic publication and definitely get the co-sign from us. We recommend you subscribe but if you’re inclined to only pick up this issue check out this FB page for more info.

The Notorious MSG Announce New Album – Heavy Ghetto

Folks, don’t think for a second that The Notorious MSG are done yet. Just announced, they will be dropping a brand new, full length album in May of this year. It’s currently titled Heavy Ghetto. These guys tend to split the crowd but I for one think they are hilarious (most of the time). The crew is serious about the craft and rarely break character and hopefully this album will bring about a lot of new material for a new generation of viewers who may have missed them during their initial mid 2000′s run.

Saving Thomas x Decipher x Jason Min Are “Reaching Out”

Philly stand up! Three staples of the AA music scene in the Illadelph have collabed on a new track called “Reaching Out”. You got band Saving Thomas, rapper Decipher and one-man show Jason Min all one track, mixed and mastered courtesy of Andy Ha (Repercussion Studios). Just wanted to share this track with you now, but I’ll have to update with my thoughts on it later after I get a chance to hear it myself.

[update] Just heard the track. I gotta say, I’m a pretty big fan. On paper it’s kind of an odd mix of talent but they all blended together beautifully here and created a pretty great song. Props to everyone involved, this is a winner. [/update]

Verseatile Releases “Worlds Apart” (The Light Version) EP

Rapper Verseatile has dropped his EP Worlds Apart; the light version. This is supposed to represent a more colorful, upbeat version of Hip-Hop. There are 5 tracks on this release and includes features from Decipher, Manifest and former teen KPOP star JoAnne. My biggest question though, is who releases a double EP? Just drop a full concept album split into halves and call it a day. But I digress; you can pick it up on bandcamp via the widget below. The dark version is scheduled to drop in early summer.
