Here’s an interesting song from IBU’s arguably most active member, Tommy C. This is a dance/party oriented single called “Rise to the Top” with some rap vocals courtesy of Canada’s J. Reyez. It’s a catchy, radio friendly single that’s face paced and actually kind of a surprising look from Tommy. Despite tackling a different genre than his usual mid-tempo R&B joints, I’d say he did a pretty decent job – the same can be said for JR too. And for all you free music lovers, yep, this one’s available for DL too.

Legaci x Summer Breeze Returns With a New Bruno Mars Cover
Legaci x Summerbreeze have proven to make an incredible team in the past, but for those who’ve forgotten why, here’s blatant reminder. We haven’t heard form Legaci in what seems like ages but in this Youtube comeback video they cover the highly popular “Grenade” by Bruno Mars. I’d tell you they killed it but did any of you expect any less? Glad to see they haven’t lost a step after their extended tour with the Beibs.
New J. Reyez – “I Do This All Day” [Free DL]
Here’s the latest single from J. Reyez, a track called “I Do This All Day”. It’s a more traditional Hip-Hop track with bass heavy, drum driven beat. It’s a welcome switch up, especially the end of the last verse where we here J experiment with his flow a little bit. It’s a free DL that you can grab here. It’s crazy how much free music this guy gives out to you fans.
Jayesslee (Janice & Sonia) Remix Diddy’s “Coming Home”
Jayesslee singing a Diddy tune? Bet ya didn’t expect that one. Well it’s not so much a cover as a complete remake that shares the chorus. I’ve always though the hook to the original had a broadly interpreted meaning behind it and so the twins flipped it into something pretty different. The girls sounded great and this was definitely an awesome switch up.
G*LEE Interviews w/ Wine & Bowties
The cross-disciplinary artist known as G*LEE has an interview out with Wine & Bowties that helps gives a little insight behind the NY based musicians. Her online presence isn’t exactly over-saturated so I imagine most may not be too familiar with her work. I first learned about her after her involvement with Kollaboration NY a couple years back and appreciated this interview. Check it out for yourself over at W&B or in it’s entirety after the jump.
Showdown: Kero One x David Choi vs Arden Cho x Megan Lee
Now this is an interesting Shodown feature. It’s the battle of the sexes edition where two teams ended up covering the same song, the infectious “Forget You” by Cee-Lo. In one corner we have Frisco’s Kero One & SoCal’s David Choi teaming up to go against opponents Arden Cho & Megan Lee. They all did an incredible job, check out the videos below.
The males chose to recreate the song organically and added a little bit of their own flavor. The females stuck a little closer to the original but added the dynamic of a vocal duet. This one’s tough, it’s kind of a toss up. What do you all think?
Jennifer Chung Sings an Original ” Mystery”
Lately, Jennifer has come out with originals and covers. Maybe these are hints that she’s going to come out with more music this summer but not totally sure yet so stay tuned to find out. This video is just her in her room and playing the guitar herself. She sings her original nicely and very gracefully. Her singing is very unique from other which I like very much. Hopefully she comes out with more music in the summer since she can’t, busy with school and all.
IBU Releases the MV for “Broken Record”
As they previously indicated, IBU has dropped their official MV for the song “Broken Record” off their album Inspired By U. The visuals are very sharp and fairly well done. Besides a couple cheesy scenes I enjoyed this video though I’m not entirely sure the dance choreography really fit. This was one of the stronger songs on the album and although it’s a little late I’m glad they finally dropped something to promote it.
Vienna Teng x Alex Wong Sells Single for Earthquake Relief

Vienna Teng and Alex Wong have an interesting live song that they are selling and all proceeds will go towards the earthquake relief effort in Japan. The song intself is centered around the sound produced by a windglass. It’s a great use of sound in art and at the very least worth a listen. This is yet another great way to support the greater cause.
454′s Nump Trump Releases the “Racks” Remix Music Video

Nump Trump jumps back in the spotlight with a new music video for a remix he did of the Young Chris song “Racks”. I’m not that big a fan of the original nor this remix, but mainly because the style and subject matter just aint my thing. The video is well edited though on the sleazy side. Just a warning to any of our more impressionable and sensitive readers, it may not quite be for everyone. DL the song for free here.
