Ailee Reportedly Signs Deal in Korea

Details are a bit sparse at the moment but word coming out of the Asian peninsula of South Korea is that the very talented Ailee has signed some type of deal over there. She’s been abroad since last year and has been working hard to make inroads into the industry, and it looks like things may be looking up. No details as to what label or in what capacity but no matter a-Tunes extends a HUGE congratulations to her! It’s a well deserved milestone and just the start of great things to come.

Jae Jin Releases Cover MV of Adele’s “Someone Like You” [Free DL]

Up until now we’ve mainly only seen simple cover videos from Baltimore R&B crooner Jae Jin, but he’s just dropped his first full scale production visual today. I should point out that it’s still not for an original but rather a cover of Adele’s excellent “Someone Like You” but he does an admirable job tackling such a tough track and gets points for trying to switch things up although it’s still a tad rough around the edges. The visuals were sharp but uneven yet still fairly entertaining. Hopefully we’ll see an official MV for one of his originals from his camp soon! DL the song for free via the widget below.

New Drops from Illmocity’s City Boy & Illmillion

Two thirds of the group Illmocity have dropped a couple new tracks today. Illmillion has a song called “Hey Girl (Whatchu Doin’?)” where he does his auto-tune thing – a style he’s nearly perfected. Fans of his will definitely enjoy the song while detractors likely won’t find a reason to change their minds. It’s an easy listen for sure though.

City Boy decided to share a remix of Sade’s “No Ordinary Love” and redub it the “Ordinary Love Shit”. It’s a straight forward verse that I personally thing is one of his stronger showings. It’s real, plan and simple and it’s cool to see him pay homage to one of the dopest artists ever, Sade. DL the song for free here.

New Mike Isberto Original – “Unexpected”

Mr. Isberto makes another return with an acoustic performance of a song he calls “Unexpected”. Similar to his last video, it features just him on the guitar on vocals accompanied by a friend on the percussion. This format works very well for the singer and adds a lot of appeal to his videos. A simple but strong release all around.

Tony T Nguyen Releases Instrumental Album – The Soundtrack Collections

Singer, composer, and musician Tony T Nguyen has put out a new album of instrumental music called The Soundtrack Collections. The album features songs used in films, TV, and Various YouTube Collaborations with Beau Sia, Heart to Heart with Kristine Sa,and Can Nguyen from Poreotics for a total of 14 tracks. It’s currently available for digital download, which you can preview get here.

Andy Suzuki & The Method Release “Good at Goodbye” [Free DL]

Andy Suzuki and the Method have a new EP in the works, and they continue to release it track by track. The next cut is called “Good at Goodbye” and is another strong release. It’s a little bit more upbeat than their last release (“Take Care of Me”) and more fun instrumentation wise. The song is mixed very well and I enjoyed this one a lot. I think most of you will too. The song can be bought for an easy 99 cents but is free for a limited time if you sign up for their mailing list. If you’re in the NY area, I would recommend checking out one of their live shows.

Gerald Ko Interviews w/ The Other Asians

Here’s a great little interview of Gerald Ko aka SinginDork888. He shares a little bit about his life outside of Youtube, including his musical background, his upbringing, what his typical day is like along with a whole slew of random facts. I especially enjoyed reading his insights on being an Asian-American, growing up in a hyrbrid of cultures. It’s an easy read so head on over to The Other Asains to peep the interview in full!

Notorious MSG Shares New Heavy Ghetto Promo Video

The Notorious MSG are equally ridiculous as they are hilarious. This is yet another example. A simple, short acoustic promo video where they song about their upcoming album. I truly have no other words… just a mixture of laughter and confusion… which I imagine may be their purpose all along.

Jackie Chain Drops MV for “Mr. V.I.P.”

Jackie Chain is going full steam on his grind, releasing another music video, this time for the song “Mr. V.I.P.”. This is for any of you not familiar with his many aliases. The song is a decent Southern Hip-Hop track though the video is decidedly low budget and more of your typical visual fare. If you like the song, you’ll likely enjoy the video. Jackie’s album should be due in the near future so look for his promotional activities to continue ramping up.

New Decipher Music & Video – “Decipher That” [Free DL]

New drop from Philly’s Decipher. Ill have to share my thoughts later but this one is reportedly for the hip hop heads. Its also a free dl from his bandcamp via the widget below.

[edit] OK, I’ve had the chance to peep the track. First things first, this beat knocks. It’s a dope track that brings him back to his more raw Hip-Hop roots, the song is a rapper’s rap of sorts. Dope drop from MUzO and great use of the projector for the visuals.
