Paul Kim Sings “She is the Reason” [Free DL]

It’s Monday again, you know what that means, another leak from Paul Kim. The latest is entitled “She is the Reason” and is a contemporary R&B track through and through. Paul’s vocals are on point as they nearly always are, but I’m starting to think it may be time for a proper collection of songs in the form of an album instead of a track by track weekly leak. Either way, don’t miss out on this week’s offering – something most R&B fans should enjoy. Get it here.

The Blue Scholars Release “John Deloreon” [Free DL]

I love it when artists put a fresh spin on their music and switch up the topics and concepts. Seattle’s Blue Scholars integrate a little time travel talk with some spaced out production and dope synths to create a refreshing track that stands out in a sea of lazy Hip-hop music. I’m really diggin this track, and lucky for me it’s a free DL. Well, I guess you can have it too.

Nessa Rica Shares “Weather On”

It’s hard not to enjoy Nessa Rica and her bluesy-pop acoustic originals but it’s starting to get to the point where I’d like to see less webcam videos and hear more fully tracked studio versions. That being said, her latest “Weather On” is still a great, calming listen. Catch it in the video below. Also, she’s made it as a finalist for Kollaboration Acoustic 5, so a huge congrats to her!

Priscilla Ahn Reveals New Song with Charlie Wadhams – “I Don’t Have Time To Be In Love”

Folk/Pop singer Priscilla Ahn has shared a new song she’s written with Charlie Wadhams called “I Don’t Have Time To Be In Love”. It’s a slow but soothing song with just a touch country sentimentality. The video is a little barebones and I’m not entirely sure why Priscilla is dressed like a Quaker but I think with a little studio polish this could be a pretty decent song.

Eunice Kiss Drops the “Delete U” MV [Free DL]

Recording artist/dancer/model Eunice Kiss has a new MV out for “Delete U”, a dance pop single. The MV & song are both decently produced and they tend to remind me a lot of Fergie (of BEP fame). tsome that’s a good thing, for others not so much. This writer falls closer to the latter category. I say this because like much of Fergie’s work, the song & video (in my opinion) relies too much on effects, production, glitz and glam and hides what I suspect to be a decent vocalist. But heck, edo I know, Fergie’s likely made more money from a few years of music than my entire family has for generations combined… so maybe Eunice Kiss is onto something. You can DL the song for free here.

News Quickies – 4/18/2011 Youtube Covers Roundup

Not sure why, but it seems like everyone posted up a cover video in the past 24 hours. Rather than post about them all separately, we’ve grouped them together in one mega post. Above we have Legaci doing a fantastic acapella cover of All-4-One’s “So Much in Love”. Some clips are better than others but you can peep them all after the break!

Big Will Drops “9 to 5″

SoCal’s representative Big Will has a new track out called “9 to 5″, a song about the contrasting lifestyle he would have found himself in had he followed the conventional day job route. It’s an alright song but not exactly one of my favorites either. Too much of it is sung when he’s not really a singer. You can expect the track to appear on his upcoming album.
