In 2011, The Supply Education Group is committed to building Lenana’s first-ever community secondary school.

This school will service the most needy — orphans and slum children — providing affordable education for them and advancing their educational pursuits.

Since 1999, DYC has been the only community primary school available for these students. But we are excited to construct this secondary school in partnership with DYC and the Lenana community.

Mike-Dash-E Presents the “Shitted On Em” Remix MV

As Nicki Minaj continues to dominate the charts with her music, she brings with her a strong selection of beats and material for other artists to cover and remix. Mike-Dash-E took the instrumental to “Shitted On Em” and threw in his own verses for good measure. It’s a simple video, with the entirety of it shot in front of a bar. The content is similar to the origial, full of braggadocio complete with a strong flow by MDE. I should mention I wasn’t ever really a fan of the beat though I seem to be in the minority on that tip.

Maniac Interviews w/ Half Korean

Some of you may not be as familiar with Maniac, an MC most recently known for being part of the re-incarnated UPT (Uptown) along with Chan & Swings. The group has since dissolved (again) but through this new interview with HK you can learn a little bit about the artist – including his upbringing, family, thoughts & experience with the Korean industry and perhaps most importantly his future work wit Chan in their group New Dynasty. Here’s a sneak peek:

Which of your tracks are you most proud of?
It is actually a track called “Now I Know” and is supposed to release in the next few weeks.

The reason I’m proud of that song is because it is a song that I actually made in the underground with no input from any label owners, producers, etc. Me and Snacky Chan remade it and made it our title song for our new album.

Be sure to catch the rest over at HalfKorean!

6 Fingers Interviews with FKN Famous

If you’re an avid follower of this blog, then you most certainly should have heard some of 6Fingers‘ work because he’s laced the instrumentals for some of the biggest names we cover including Hopie, Dumb, Bam, and Rocky Rivera. But being a man behind the boards has also made him less visible as a personality; which is why this is a great interview for you to check out. He shares some thoughts with FKN Famous and you get to learn a little bit about him and his love for the craft. Here’s a snippet:

Were there any hard challenges you had to face in the industry?

- The hardest challenges for me are going out there networking and getting the hang of the whole business side of things. I’m a fucking labrat I just wanna make music 24/7. I just zone out so much when I’m in the studio that I don’t think of anything else. I get mad at myself a lot because I should be on the internet social networking, going out to more functions etc etc.. but I just don’t. S/O ‘s to the MCees I work with….their music keeps my name in the loop.

Check out the rest over at FKN Famous!

Jason Chen Covers “Written in the Stars” (Again) with Joseph Vincent

JC must really dig this song. He’s decided to cover “Written in the Stars” despite already doing the song with Verseatile just a week or so ago. Only instead of the rapper, he’s swapped in Joseph Vincent instead. The first was a decent remix to begin with but is this one any better? Not necessarily… it’s just different, but not different enough to warrant two separate songs. In my opinion they should have just mashed it all into one track with all three artists.

New Singles from Charice – “Before It Explodes” & “One Day”

Teen singer Charice has dropped a brand new single that will be on her upcoming album. The song is titled “Before It Explodes” and fits right in the A/C Pop pocket that Charice has been known to excel in. There’s no doubt that the girl can sing well beyond her years, but I’m not sure the song is able to fully able to retain her youthful charm. Regardless, Charice kills the vocals with ease – but I supposed I shouldn’t expect any less from her. Get the song on iTunes or Amazon now.

[edit] Make that that TWO new singles. Here’s “One Day”. This is a much more fitting sound for her age. Also available on iTunes & Amazon.

Illmind Releases Album – Behind the Curtain

We told you it was coming and here it is. The Hip-Hop instrumental album from famed producer Illmind – Behind the Curtain. He’s gone all out for this release, which includes 22 beats + 222 audio stems of his sounds, royalty free. For MC’s and producers alike, this is looking like a must have. It’s currently available from iTunes & Amazon in digital form, with hard copies available in May.

New MV from Hopie Spitshard – “Be a Lady”

Here’s the MV for “Be a Lady”, a cut off the upcoming Dulce Vita LP by Hopie Spitshard that is due on April 26th. One thing I always appreciate about Hopie, regardless of whether or not I like end result, is her penchant for taking her visuals in an artistic direction. In this case, she’s gone with a vintage vibe and some solid 50/60′s inspired production courtesy of 6 Fingers. Both the video and song take the concept and run with it to some pretty decent results.

Feats in Inches Share Studio Performance of “Broken Parts”

The band Feats in Inches and their camp have a knack for putting together some great session performance videos, blurring the lines between behind the scenes and official music videos. Their new clip for “Broken Parts” is a fun watch though simple in concept with two frames side by side offering different perspectives. The song does a pretty good job of building demand for some officially released studio material. I noticed a pair of crutches in the back, props to whomever is still rocking out while being impaired.
