Andy Suzuki & The Method Covers “All of the Lights” [Live Performance]

I was honestly a little bit hesitant when I saw the title of this video. But I was foolish for doubting Andy Suzuki and his band the Method, cause the completely killed it in this cover of Kanye’s anthem-esque “All of the Lights”. This all acoustic rendition loses some of the intensity but replaces it with a raw creative energy and fantastic arrangement and instrumentation. This is one of the sickest covers I’ve seen in weeks.

City Boy – “Fly Higher” [Free DL]

“”Fly Higher” is the latest track from City Boy, a slower song featuring Anna of Rock It Pro on the hook. I can appreciate the fact he switched up the pace and went a little more introspective for this one. In fact, it’s prob my favorite drop from CB – at least in recent memory. I’m kind of hoping he decides to ramp up promotions on this song and make a full video for it.  If you like what you hear, you can DL the track here for free

FlowEthics Preview Upcoming Album – HeroesEnDeSkies

Group FlowEthics, in my opinion one of the most underrated acts in the Hip-Hop space, has just dropped a sampler of songs from an upcoming album entitled HeroesEnDeSkies. It’s just snippets of roughly half the tracks that will be on the final LP and I gotta say it’s a promising start. Hopefully the can carry the momentum through till the final product.

J. Reyez x Jin – “Just Like You” [Free DL]

Canada’s J. Reyez managed to link up with Jin for a new joint called “Just Like You”. It’s got a laid back, old school type of beat though the hook felt a bit half baked. Jin’s verse at the end was a nice change of pace but overall I’m not sure this was the strongest drop from either MC. At the end of the day I liked the track though, despite my unmet but admittedly high expectations. You can DL the song for free here.

AM Kidd – You Still Exist MV

Here’s the new video for AM Kidd‘s single “You Still Exist”. If ya diggin the song, you can get it from iTunes & Amazon. I’ll have to share my thoughts later once I’ve had a chance to check out the video myself.

[update] AM Kidd has undoubtedly shown he has a slight “emo” flair to this music, but he executes it in a way that I can appreciate most of the time. The visuals for this song are on point, making a good point of establishing the tone and vibe of the song.  AM has really found a unique niche with his brand of “Key”-Hop music.
