[Music Video] Tommy C – “Sweetheart”

IBU’s Tommy C has just dropped a solo music video for his song “Sweetheart” that he dropped earlier this year. It’s a decently done DIY MV, shot in some great locations around Chicago. The video matches the tone and style of the song well – which is an enjoyable mid-tempo R&B track on it’s own. Plus it’s always fun to have dancing in an MV. The song is available on iTunes & Amazon.

[Album Release] Far East Movement – If I Was You (OMG) EP

2010 kicked off a huge year for FM and they certainly aren’t about to let that momentum slow down with us nearly halfway through 2011. They have just dropped a 3 track EP simple titled the If I Was You (OMG) EP. On it you’ll find a remix of the title track featuring Snoop, the live performance version of “So What”, and a remix of their Keri Hilson assisted track “Don’t Look Now”. It’s available now on iTunes and will be on Amazon in just a couple days time as well.

[New Music] Sam Hart – “Stars in Our Eyes”

Admittedly inspired by Disney’s Tangled, singer Sam Hart has crafted a new track called “Stars in Our Eyes” along the same sappy emotional lines as the tunes you’d find in their animated musicals. Personally I tend to be a bigger fan of Sam’s more positive, hopeful tunes as opposed to some of his slower, darker numbers. This is yet another example of that trend. I just wonder when the guy is gonna lay some of these tracks down in a studio and give us a proper recording to listen to.

[Album Release] The Nehemiah Band – Awaken the Dawn EP

The fellas behind The Nehemiah Band have been on the quiet side as of late however I was pleasantly surprised to learn that they have a new EP out called Awaken the Dawn. It’s very short in length, at only 3 tracks it’s actually more of a demo and serves as a rehash of some older and unreleased material. There’s actually quite a bit of history behind each of the tracks but I’ll let you read their words about it because they describe it better than I ever could.

“Awaken the Dawn” and “Rice, Kimchee and Eggs (RKE)” are two songs we play at nearly every gig, but we haven’t properly released either of the songs.

Awaken the Dawn was originally found on Mike’s collaborative effort with Jaeson Ma (Namesake: bit.ly/kdChko) that was released back in 2007. We tried to release an Awaken the Dawn 2.0 on Break of Dawn, but after we started recording…we didn’t like what we created. Thus, scrapped it and told ourselves we’d re-record it someday.

RKE on the other hand, could be found on the Break of Dawn album if you popped in the cd and searched for it on your computer; however, we feel that this new version is finally in-line with how we want the song to sound. Descry thinks it’s because he actually cooked an egg before the song started, but Kevin thinks it’s because of his enhanced opera man section. You be the judge.

Both versions were recorded/mastered by Feats in Inches drummer (and Descry’s younger brother), Steve Lee (check out Feats in Inches here: featsininches.bandcamp.com)

[Single Release] Hydroponikz – “More” [Free DL]

It’s been quite some time since we heard new solo material from Hydroponikz but that changes today with the release of his latest single “More”. It’s the lead cut off his upcoming album Grown, due at the month. Hydro chose to go the story telling route with this track and it’s a move I can appreciate. If ya feeling the song, feel free to grab it at no cost here.
