[Single Release] Natalise – “Open Me” [Free DL]

I’ve heard NorCal’s Natalise on a variety of different styles of music, seeing her dip her toes in various genres and experimenting with her sound. Her latest release, the first in quite some time, is a track called “Open Me” that finds her returning to a more mature, refined sound that fits an A/C Pop mold. Somewhat surprising though not unpleasing. Although I think this style isn’t quite a perfect fit, it’s an intriguing sign of things to come. Listen & DL the song for free from her FB.

[Music Video] Young Chariz – “The Next Level”

With the release date for Chariz‘s It’s Curtains quickly approaching, the rapper has just released a new music video for the intro track “The Next Level”. Visually this just might be the sharpest looking release YC & his team have dropped so far. The song is a decent album opener that makes great use of a bluesy guitar riffing in the background. If their intention was to get me intrigued for the album then they’ve succeeded.

[Music Video] Traphik Features on Eric Solomon’s “I Found Love”

Not to be confined to one genre, Traphik has lent his vocals to the electro-pop song “I Found Love” by Eric Solomon. It’s a tiny bit ironic coming from the guy who proclaimed he hates House music. It’s a high energy, catchy tune with a quirky music video to match. I didn’t expect it to work but the pairing of Solomon and Mr. De La Ghetto worked out pretty well. You can pick up the track on iTunes & Amazon.

[Single Preview/Album Pre-Order] AJ Rafael – Red Roses

It’s kind of crazy to think that the hugely popular AJ Rafael has yet to drop an official full length album but all that is about to change come June 7th. He’s getting ready to drop Red Roses, produced by the ubiquitous Jesse Barrera. To build up anticipation he’s posted up another song preview, this one’s called “Emma Watson” and will be on the album. In case you were worried about how to pick up the album, you can put your concerns to rest. You’ll be able to pick up the album at Target, Best Buy, FYE along with iTunes & Amazon! Not too shabby for a guy without major label backing.

[Single Release] Illymoc – “Let’s Get It” ft Jesse [Free DL]

The Illymoc crew doesn’t seem to want to slow down, dropping yet another song – “Let’s Get It” – their 4th in just a couple week’s time. It’s a smoother track that I think the girls will appreciate with a dope hook sung by Jesse. You can catch the lyrics after the break and if you’re liking the song be sure to DL the track here for free.

[Interview + Live Performance] Kero One w/ MYX-Rated

Here’s another dope clip from the MYX-Rated show, this time featuring Bay-Area artist Kero One. They have a quick chat with the MC along with a dope live performance set where he performs a medley of “When the Sunshine Comes”, “All the Wrong Places”, and “Asian Kids”. I always dig it when an MC mixes it up with live instrumentation.

[Live Performance] Eunice Kiss – “Delete U” (5/21/11)

Pop singer Eunice Kiss dropped her single “Delete U” over a month ago, with the MV showing off some impressive dance moves although I wasn’t so crazy about the song itself. In yet another visual example, Eunice Kiss has posted up a performance clip she recently did at an event in LA on May 21st. It’s a shame the vocals weren’t live but you get an even better look at just how athletically demanding her routine is.

[Single Release] Bambu – “America” [Free DL]

Bambu has just leaked a single from his recently released bonus EP Short Changed. The song’s called “America” and is an honest look at his experiences with the military and the inner conflict that arose from it. The song is yet another dope track from Bam and a strong advocate for why you should pick up the album now. If not, at least grab the song since it’s a free DL.

Ya gotta love Tuesdays, though I never did figure out why albums tend to drop on that day of the week. Regardless today brings us Emi Meyer’s latest release, Suitcase of Stones. The contemporary piano jazz vocalist’s third studio album is an all English release of 9 tracks including the beautiful “Master Piece“.  The album is available now on iTunes, CD Baby & Amazon. [Album Release] Notorious MSG – Heavy Ghetto

That’s right folks. You’ve been hearing about it for months but the day has finally come for the release of the brand new, full length feature album Heavy Ghetto from the comedy rap trio known as the Notorious MSG. You get 10 zany tracks courtesy of members Hunan Bomb, Down-Lo Mein and Hong Kong Fever. The album is available on their website as well as the usual online retailers – iTunes & Amazon. Their humor isn’t for everyone but if you are one of their fans, this release is long overdue.

For more silly fun, check out their feature in the new JK Films short after the break.
