[Music Video] Saving Thomas – “Symphony”

This is really turning out to be a MV filled Thursday. This one features acoustic Hip-Rock group Saving Thomas for their single “Symphony” off their album Road to Emmaus, released in the second half of last year. This particular song has a guest vocal from Gloria Chung who adds a raspy but effeminate flavor, nicely complementing Dave Bak’s rhymes. This was definitely one of the better joints of the LP and it’s good to see it get an official visual treatment.

[Single Release/Music Video] Goh Nakamura – “Better”

Acoustic rocker Goh Nakamura just dropped a new single and accompanying music video called “Better”. It’s a little bit more upbeat than some of his other work though still very much rooted in Goh’s signature sound. I never would have imagined parkour set to Goh’s music but you know what? It kinda works, especially given the lyrical content. There aren’t too many artists that can make some edgy lyrics sound so gentle. Like what you hear? Great, go get the song on iTunes!

[Music Video] Alfa – “First Sight of Land”

Alfa Garcia has been busy making the move across the country but like any great artist, took the time to document and immortalize her journey with her art. The song is called “First Sight of Land” and was inspired by her many travels from the Right to Left coasts of the USA. The video appropriately features clips of her at various locations and events, allowing us to go along for the ride. It’s a heartfelt acoustic tune, true to Alfa’s style that I’m sure most of you will enjoy.

[New Song] Schoolboy DUKE – “Take You Now”

Eclectic artist Schoolboy DUKE never ceases to amaze me with his versatility and willingness to tackle various genres, for better or worse. In this case it’s definitely for the former as the recent college grad leaves the raps behind (for the most part) and jumps into a Pop/Rock song with refreshing aplomb. This has mass-appeal written all over it and could fit right in on the tracklist to a teen movie (though we could do without the producer’s tags in the track). Congrats to DUKE on graduating and on the new track!

[Single Release] Jesse Barrera – “You’ll Feel Alive”

As of late, Jesse Barrera seems to have been more active behind the scenes for other artists (producing for Melissa Polinar, April Chase, AJ Rafael, etc) than he has for his own music but that changes now with the release of a brand new single – “You’ll Feel Alive” – off an EP due later this summer. This Pop/Rock track just may be Jesse’s catchiest work yet and a fantastic feel good addition to your seasonal playlist. The song is due on iTunes in a couple week’s time but available NOW on bandcamp via the widget below.
