“Are We There Yet”? Almost Says Dumbfoundead, MV to drop July 5th

In our humble opinions, it’s been way too long since the last solo music video and official single from Dumbfoundead. But with just a little bit of patience that is set to change next week on July 5th. The freestyle rapper turned internet sensation has just announced that the visuals for his single “Are We There Yet” will be released on that date, being the first officially promoted single off his upcoming album.

How You Can Help Be a Part of Jesse Barrera’s New EP – You’ll Feel Alive

Artist Jesse Barrera is currently in the works of putting together his latest solo album and follow up to last year’s Love in Technicolor - an EP called You’ll Feel Alive. But he’s looking to his fans and supporters for help in making this project a reality by starting a new kickstarter campaign. As is the norm, different levels of contributions are rewarded with different levels of incentives. If you’re interesting in being a part of the project, check out the KS page!

Verseatile & Traphik Bounce Back with “The Rebound”

Here’s an interesting team up. Verseatile has a new collaboration with Traphik on a joint they call “The Rebound”; about people using a fling to bounce back in the dating game. Topically, it’s something a little different from the love related tracks you’d usually hear, and they do a good job of putting together a catchy, midtempo song. The auto-tuned hook is decent but I’m thinking a dedicated singer would have really anchored the track.

Take a Peek at AJ Rafael’s “Without You” MV

Mark your calendars for July 12th because that’s when AJ Rafael will be dropping his MV for “Without You”, directed by Ross Ching. The single is off his recently released album Red Roses (produced by Jesse Barrera) and could very well be the most technically advanced visual for his music yet. We’ll just have to wait and see in a couple week’s time!

Clara Chung Pulls at your “Heartstrings” with New MV featuring Joseph Vincent

After releasing the teaser a couple weeks back, Clara C has just released the official music video for “Heartstrings” featuring the very popular Joseph Vincent. The visuals are pretty well executed, featuring a few nifty effects, though not quite as sharp as the Ross Ching directed MV for “Offbeat“. “Heartstrings” is one of the singles off her debut album, The Art in My Heart, released in the latter half of last year. You can potentially get the song for free by signing up for her Fanbridge newsletter, or support the girl by picking up the whole album.

Samuel Geunjin Kang Wants to “Find You Again” [MV]

It’s been quite some time (over a year!) since we last heard new material from Geunjin, but he’s partnered up with Bluebook Productions to release a new MV for the song “Find You Again”. It’s a slower paced folk-rock song with serene visuals to match that appear to have been shot in and around Los Angeles. The last time I saw an MV from Sam was the Wong Fu produced visual for “Red Light” at the tail end of 2009.

Jason Chen Teases with “Burns”

It appears that Jason Chen has another original project lined up to share with us called “Burns”. Below is the teaser to what looks like a very dramatic music video. All we know at this time is that the single/MV will drop sometime in July. Personally, I can always appreciate it when Jason moves away from his abundant covers and releases original material.

Big Will Wants to Turn the “Lights Off” [Free DL]

WWS/Rude Boy representative Big Will just posted up a new joint called “Lights Off”. It’s really your standard fare R&B-Hop, complete with a detailed explanation of Will’s explicit intentions with the ladies. It’s nothing ground breaking but perhaps you might have a place for it in your after hours recreation playlist. The song is available as a free DL here.

Bambu Shows “Just(Us)” with DJ Phatrick and is “At It Again” with Prometheus Brown [Free DLs]

Here’s a pair of drops from LA’s Bambu. First up is a track called “Just(Us) with his long time DJ & former Native Guns fam, DJ Phatrick. The MC starts things off slow before kicking things into high gear and jumping into his double time style all over a minimalist beat with an effective vocal sample. Grab that song for free here.

The next cut is a single off Bam & Prometheus Brown’s (aka Geo of Blue Scholars) project album Walk into a Bar, recently recorded by the duo while in Hawaii. It’s appropriately titled “At It Again” as this isn’t the first effort from the unofficial team. They’ve proven to be an effective pair in the past. You can pick this one up from DJBooth as a freebie too but look out for the album to drop July 6th.
