JackFroot has a new interview out with the young up and comer D-Pryde. The MC answers 10 quick questions on topics ranging from his child hood, influences, recreational activities, family and more. It isn’t too long a read and for the uninitiated, it gets you pretty well acquainted with the Hip-Hop artist. Subway has been a surprising supporter of great independent talent. For example, their latest Subway Session series features the awesome Kina Grannis in an impromtu performance of her song “The One You Say Goodnight To” (off her Stairwells album) at the West 4th station in New York. It’s a fun, but short clip filled with ambient sounds for atmosphere though I could have appreciated if they mic’d up and focused a bit more on her soothing vocals more.

Last week we shared with you the lead single off the joint album Walk into a Bar by Prometheus (Geo of the Blue Scholars) and Bambu – “At it Again“. Well, the full album is now available in it’s entirety via bandcamp (check the widget below). It’s a 10 track release that the duo recorded while in Hawaii earlier this year. They’ve proven to be a formidable tag-team in the past and everything indicates that this is another quality release. Pick it up and revive that Hip-Hop playlist of yours.

The Bay area quartet known as the 4Play Ladies got the opportunity to perform and audition for the hit summer show America’s Got Talent. The Pop/R&B group kicked things off on the right foot, getting the co-sign from the judges and audience alike for their performance of Beyonce’s “If I Were a Boy”. It left us immediately wondering if they would go on deep in the conversation like At Last did in the inaugural US season of the show.

AMP (Sam Ock, J. Han, and CL) may have been a little on the quiet side as of late, but they officially dropped their first new material for 2011 today, a song entitled “Your Word”. This is the lead single off their upcoming album and sophomore effort after last year’s self-titled debut. The song is available now on iTunes & Amazon for under a buck so be sure to support the group and be on the lookout for the full album later this year.
