Zee Avi Releases New Single “The Book Of Morris Johnson”; Interviews w/ Huffington Post

As many of you know, Malaysian singer Zee Avi (who found her way to stardom via Youtube), is getting ready to release her sophomore album ghostbird next month on August 23rd. She has recently released a single from the album and it’s called “The Book of Morris Johnson”. The mid-tempo, almost dream-like song has her personality and style written all over it. The song is available for streaming on Viinyl.com, and for purchase on iTunes & AmazonMP3.

The singer also has a new interview out with the Huffington Post that you can check out here. Of particular note is that she allowed them to debut a live performance video of the aforementioned single that is part of the “In the Open” series on Vimeo. Take a look after the break!

Just ‘Cause: Who is Victor King?

We jump on every opportunity to share a little bit more behind the artists and music figures that you know and love; the latest being none other than Victor Kim (aka Victor King?), perhaps best known as part of the ABDC Season 3 champions Quest Crew. Victor created this video for this an undisclosed project but decided to post this up for the world to see as well. The dancer/musician talks a little bit about who he is and how he’s come to this point in life, from both a persona and professional standpoint. You should definitely check this video out; it’s a great addition to our Just ‘Cause feature.

I came across this photo the other day and thought it’d be a perfect addition to our Snapshot series. Rock band Paperdoll was recently featured on DeAcetisStyle.com, an international digital style guide. Photographer Cameron R Neilson provided a slick image for their entry with lead vocalist Teresa Lee featured beautifully front and center. Listen to IAMMEDIC’s “Coming Home”

In a complete change of pace, IAMMEDIC has dropped a new song that isn’t a high-energy, electronica-infused, dance track. Instead they’ve just shared a slower, piano driven song entitled “Coming Home”. MEDIC fans need fear not because they pull off the genre switch up with ease and it’s actually quite the pleasant listen. This song was released for their fans to commemorate hitting the 11K “Like” milestone on Facebook. Not too shabby. You can DL the track via bandcamp below.

Jasmine V is Ready to “Werk” [MV]

Teen pop-star Jasmine V has just debuted the music video for her single “Werk”. The Filipina/Mexican-American, who initially garnered a lot of attention for professional/personal involvement with Justin Bieber, is gearing up to release her debut album, of which several singles have dropped for so far. Time will tell whether the Sony Music signee will be able sustain longevity as a recording artist.
