Sam Ock teams up with Kero One once again for a new track entitled “Pieces”, a song they are selling on behalf of the Justice Mission – where all profits will be going to the organization to aid in the fight for global human rights. The two have proven to be a strong team in the past and this effort is no different. A great song for a great cause, what more could you want? The song is available to buy via bandcamp, check the widget below. Lyrics can be found after the break.

Maribelle Anes Just “Can’t Let You Go”
Maribelle Anes is proving to be quite the talented young musician. Her latest original is a track called “Can’t Let You Go”, a ballad reflecting the conflicting emotions that come from being in a complex relationship. It’s a moving track that was written and produced by Ms Anes herself. Not bad for someone in the middle of their teenage years. Take a listen in the youtube clip below. Lyrics are after the break.
Verseatile Releases Visuals for “Brush Em Off”
Rapper Verseatile has provided a promotional watch for his track “Brush Em Off” off his Worlds Apart EP from earlier this year. The use of frames was a nice touch but even the novelty of the editing technique wears off on a 4+ minute track with such little variation. The song itself is decent but I’m not sure the video will hold your attention all the way through. Go head and check it out for yourself below.

Lookin’ Back: Lyricks & Manifest – “Gift” (2006)
Time sure flies. “Gift” by Lyricks & Manifest is one of those early videos to go “viral” before viral videos really existed. It was recorded back around 2006 over the instrumental to Eminem’s “When I’m Gone“, and at the time social networking basically included AIM and maybe Xanga and Myspace depending on who you talked to. But this video still got passed along like crazy – especially among the Korean-American youth of the time. It’s kind of funny that both Lyricks & Manifest started off as an early Youtube hit but never really became a staple of the then budding online video site. There are pro’s and con’s to that but regardless the two have been making good music for years now and although they’ve grown as artists, this video is a testament to the strength of their earlier work as well. The two have gone on to form the Beautiful Cycle & SuperNoVA collectives, with Manifest doing his thing overseas with JL & company while Lyricks continues to hold it down stateside. Wow… 2006 seems current but it’s already half a decade ago. It’s fun to Look Back ain’t it?
