VS Releases an MV with “Mass Appeal”

VS (better known to some under the username Songs to Wear Pants To), just dropped the MV for his single “Mass Appeal” off his album Hearing A Truth Serum. It’s a quirky, funky song and video by the Canadian musician, but I gotta say it’s a fairly intriguing watch. VS isn’t afraid to experiment with his craft, making for something of a refreshing listen when compared to his counterparts. Get “Mass Appeal” on iTunes & Bandcamp now.

Clara C Interviews w/ the Other Asians

The Other Asians have a fantastic new interview out with rising star Clara Chung. There’s some great tidbits of information there, everything from her upcoming international tour, to how her sister plucks her eyebrows, to her upcoming sophomore album, to how a pivotal change in educational paths likely changed everything for her. A highly recommended read that covers a lot of ground! Check it out over at TOA.

Victor Kim Announces Upcoming EP & New Shoe Line

This news is straight from the horse’s mouth. Victor Kim aka Victor King has publicly announced that he’s been hard at work on a music EP containing 5 tracks along with some bonus material. No release date or further information was provided. In addition, he has also linked up with TWEAK Footwear to bring out his own designer shoe… but he wants your help. Once again details are scarce but it seems like a lot of things are falling into place for the musician/artist/Quest Crew dancer/skater. Should be an exciting next few months.

Misfit Tells You About “Home”

“Home” is the latest joint from Misfit, his first drop in months. It’s a welcome return from the Crooked Apples MC, can’t find much to dislike really. Great beat selection, he made a good choice by picking this beat by Ante. Flows on point, good energy… as I said, it just comes together well. Thankfully it’s also posted up as a free DL, so feel free to help yourself and get this in your MP3 player of choice.

Wolftron (Kenny Choi) Reveals a “Prison Planet”

It appears that Wolftron (aka Kenny Choi of Daphne Loves Derby) decided to go in a new direction with his latest musical releasee, channeling some retro electropop from the 80′s for the song “Prison Planet”. So how did this departure from the norm fare? To be quite honest I’m liking it a lot! His softer voice couples well with the style, I have to admit I didn’t really see this one coming. It’s always interesting to see band members experiment on their own.

Kreisha Says to Put Your “Hands Up”

They say good things come in small packages. That seems to be the case with young Kreisha, a 12 year old with a small stature but big voice. She’s just released a single called “Hands Up”, produced by J-Ricz & C-daq, collectively known as Rockus (and producers of “Last Call” by 4Play that we shared with you yesterday). This is a dance-centric track, heavy on style but still with a little room for Kreisha to use her instrument. It felt a little too old for the child singer but it’s a decided move away from the cover ballads she typically sings.

Erika David Debuts the “Lemme Go” MV

Pop/R&B singer Erika David has just released her latest music video for her single “Lemme Go“. For those that haven’t heard it yet, the song is a very catchy tune that I imagine most would enjoy. The video itself is pretty decent if a bit uneventful but it’s still a huge improvement over her effort from a couple years back, “My Heels” (which has long since been made private on Youtube). I hope this means we can see an album or EP from her in the near future too!
