Rachael Yamagata Debuts the MV for “Starlight”

Rachael Yamagata has just debuted the MV on MTV Hive for her single “Starlight” off her upcoming Chesapeake, her first LP in 3 years. The video takes a decidedly lo-fi approach, full of stylized visuals and abstract footage… a somewhat welcome deviation from the overly glossy, super crisp HD video productions that have become the norm. I’m really like both the songs and visuals for this one. Looking forward to the complete album!

Nicole Scherzinger Says “Don’t Hold Your Breath”

I really can’t figure out the promotional strategy for Nicole Scherzinger‘s debut solo album Killer Love, but her latest single in the US – “Don’t Hold Your Breath” has just dropped even though it saw the light of the day across the pond over half a year ago. Regardless, this is the first I’m hearing of it and I imagine it will be so for most of you too. Interestingly enough, I think this is her best single that she’s promoted from the project yet. For the visually inclined, you can view the 6 month old MV after the break. The song is available now: AmazonMP3, iTunes

Joseph Vincent Featured on IdeaJam

An online series called IdeaJam (sponsored by Intel) is taking an interesting approach to the arts by exploring the blending of media and technology and how the creative world can continue to evolve and adapt over time. One such artist that they’ve been focusing on is the one and only Joseph Vincent. Check out the clips below to get a peek at what he’s been working on with IdeaJam along with hearing a peek at his song “Heartbreak Girl“.

IdeaJam is a series of brainstorm sessions that bring together the brightest minds in an array of creative fields, including but not limited to video, music, comedy, animation and education. Each event will be led by a moderator, well-known in their field, and joined by experts together with a group of hand-picked participants who add perspective and vision to the conversation. These sessions will be opened up to the community at large, who can interact with the “mega minds” in their field via a host of social media tools, resulting in a robust dialogue and collaborative end-goal all revolving around the theme of “What Inspires You?”

Listen to “My Piece” By D-League

It’s good to see the duo known as D-League staying busy with the promotions as of late. This latest cut is called “My Piece” and is one of the tracks that didn’t quite make the tracklist of their upcoming EP. Regardless, it’s a pretty dope song and I think it was a good choice for them to still share it. There seems to be a fair share of artists that have used this beat by either way, that hook is serious. DL the song here for free or via the widget below.

Paul Kim x Eunice Kiss Collab for “Still Not Over You”

It’s always a blessing when artists can work people close to them. So friends IRL Paul Kim & Eunice Kiss must have been thrilled to collab on this new single called “Still Not Over You”. The two sound great together on this R&B track though the sharp looking beach album art looks more fitting for Pauls last single “You Left Me For That”. Either way though, “Still Not Over You” is already available on both iTunes & AmazonMP3 (and has been for a couple weeks… a quiet launch, go figure).
