Whoa! It’s a surprise new music video from David Choi for his song “Better You” from his album By My Side. The video features some creative visuals and sets that match the light hearted up-beat feel of the song very well. It’s a quick watch but a welcome visual return for the veteran Youtube star. It may not be his most fancily produced effort yet, but it certainly gets the job done well.

TOKiMONSTA Interviews w/ Knocksteady
Beat crafter and producer TOKiMONSTA stopped by the Knocksteady studios not too long ago and they’ve got her interview and a quick clip up from her set. You can listen to the podcast in it’s entirety either on iTunes of via the widget below. The interview w/ KS’s Intuition is at the end of the clip. If you saw this woman on the street, you’d never guess she’s the creative tour de force that she is.
Lyricks Introduces You to “Jezebelle” (ft Petey-O)
Here’s a smooth sounding track coming from just south of the Potomac river by Lyricks and Petey-O of Bellyout on that electric six-string. I’m loving the instrumentation… it’s so sultry and seedy, coupled with Rick’s rapid fire flows it becomes a great match. If you pay attention you’ll find a bunch of cameos via various spliced in footage.
Try “Waiting” with Manny Garcia
It really seems like Manny Garcia‘s upcoming EP due in October, Where I Started From, is going to be one heck of a project as the previews he’s released thus far have been all on point. “Waiting” is the latest, with Manny taking on a Pop-Standards ala Buble type of approach, and it’s sounding quite classy if I do say so myself. If he can continue this momentum, it’s going to be a stellar EP.
Seriously Returns with “Fireflies”
It’s a bit of a curious notion as to why Seriously has been so quiet in 2011 with nary a word from their camp however that thankfully changes this evening with their live preview of the song “Fireflies”. This slow-paced song has a lot of potential. I sincerely hope this is the first of many new appearances from the band, it’s been a long time since they’ve been active. Unfortunately it looks like they may have lost a member since then too – which may explain the hiatus.
Jason Chen Previews “Best Friend”, “Gravity”, & “Curious”
Miniachilles aka Jason Chen has certainly built up the following over the years, largely in part to his many covers. So it’s always welcome news to hear that he will be releasing original material instead. In the clip below, you can hear snippets of three upcoming tracks – “Best Friend”, “Gravity” and “Curious”. They are all mid-tempo Pop jams, a genre that really seems to be JC’s vocal bread and butter. We’ll be sure to let you know when the final songs drop!
Trin Monsta Takes You “Higher” with GIBS V
TM has made an expected return by dropping a new track called “Higher” featuring GIBS V. The dance oriented Rap song has a decidedly Black Eyed Peas type of feel to it, making it a fitting choice for the radio or party though I can’t say this is gonna be looked back upon as a timeless classic. The good news is that it’s available now as a free DL, so enjoy it for the time being!
