It’s only been a few days since the single dropped, but AMP has released the official MV for their collab with Gowe & Mickey Cho – “Inspired” (shot on location at Inspire Cali 2011). Clean, sharp video combined with some candid footage make for a fun video though still in the lane of your standard single-cam affair. Mickey kills his verse though, where did this Sam Ock doppelganger come from? The dude can flow!

Verseatile Drops “Hard”

Verseatile decided to drop a new joint called “Hard”, where he takes some verses both old and new and throws them on a J-Phonics produced beat. He decided to experiment a little bit with some high energy dub-steb mixed in with the electronica laced instrumental, combining it with some rapid-fire raps. Can’t say it’s a home run but it’s an interesting listen at the very least, def something different from the majority of rap songs as of late. It’s available as a free DL (until allotment runs out) via Bandcamp. If you only want to stream, you can catch it via Youtube after the break along with the lyrics.
Suspected Killer of Charice’s Father Surrenders

As we reported a couple days ago, Charice and her family have suffered a terrible tragedy where her estranged father was slain in her native Philippines. But a new report from MTV News has stated that the alleged killer has surrendered himself to authorities. Hopefully this will mark just one small step in the path to justice and consolation for the family. May the victim RIP and the surviving family be able to stay strong through this ordeal.
Kina Grannis Releases MV for “In Your Arms”; Featured on MTV’s The Real World
By now, most of you should know I’m a sucker for creatively executed and produced music videos. You should also know I’m partial to the charm of Kina Grannis. That’s why the MV for her latest single off her Stairwells album, “In Your Arms”, is appealing to me on pretty much every level. It’s cute, colorful, and imaginative, and if you check out the BTS featurette after the break, you’ll see it was a pain staking process to bring you the visual you see here today. A huge props to Kina and her team, the video project turned out incredible! Even after 18 months, the promotions for the album are still providing us with gems like these.
In other big and related news, the song was also featured on last night’s episode of the long running reality series, The Real World, on MTV.

Marie Digby Shares the Duet Version of “Your Love” MV
“Your Love”? Wait, didn’t we already see an MV for this song from Marie? If you find yourself asking this question, you would be partially correct. While she did release an MV for the track, it was for the dolo variation of the song. For those that picked up her most recent album of the same name, you should be privy to the fact that there is also a duet version featuring Sam Milby – and these are the visuals for it. I think I prefer this one, it has a little bit more charm with the added male dynamic and the MV has an earnest characteristic to it.
Dumbfoundead Featured on Complex

Complex Magazine? Oof, that’s a good look for Dumbfoundead. Yea, it’s not in the print edition but the LA MC managed to find himself on the website of one of the biggest Men’s lifestyle publications. They had the honor of debuting his track “Cool & Calm” off his recently released LP – DFD. So hit up their website to take a listen if you haven’t copped the album yet (shame on you). But here’s what they had to say:
We aleady touched on the success of Korean pop in America. It looks like Koreans are doing pretty well in hip-hop, too. Right now, the number one album on the iTunes hip-hop albums chart is by Tablo, a rapper from Seoul. The number two album is Dumbfoundead‘s DFD. Under them are major label stars Wale and J. Cole.
Dumbfoundead is a Korean/American rapper from Los Angeles. You won’t find him in all the mainstream media outlets and he’s not signed to a major label, but check out his YouTube stats. He’s got hundreds of thousands of subscribers and millions of views on his videos, and he’s got no problem selling out concerts.
Today, he released his new album DFD, and it looks like all the online grinding is paying off.
Just ‘Cause: Jane Lui Sings For a Young Fan
“Cute” is the only way to describe this video. While on tour in Europe, Jane Lui had a show in Amsterdam but unfortunately she had a young supporter who couldn’t stick around due to the fact that she had school the next day. So guess what? The little girl got her own private performance of “Migration Song”.
AAM had the scoop behind the event:
The way Jane explains it, it was her last night Europe, and kind of a miserable one. She had posted about doing a little open mic show in Amsterdam, but between the pouring rain and coming down with a cold, she was considering not going, thinking no one would know her there anyway.
But Jane, soaked with rain, had fans waiting for her, of course. Including a guy named Edwin who brought his young daughter. They had apparently seen Jane’s awesome History of Lyrics That Aren’t Lyrics, and drove out an hour to see her. But it was almost her bedtime by the time Jane got there, so they went outside and she sang the little fan a quick song.
Too awesome.
Raden Gives You “Nothing Better”

Here’s another leak from Raden – “Nothing Better”. It’s a solid R&B joint from an artist who has proven to be one of the more consistent artists in the genre, though at this point it’d be nice to see some music videos or performance clips thrown into the singer’s promotional campaign. Regardless, this is pretty decent new track and lucky for you it’s also available – gratis.
