Tommy C x J. Reyez x Jargon Present the MV for “My Reason”

For the next single promotion off his #CMixtape, Tommy C linked up with his pals J. Reyez and Jargon to rhyme over his Pop/R&B track. The video production values are commendable and the trio make a pretty decent team but did anyone kind of feel like Tommy was shouting the chorus? Regardless, I have to give them all props for expressing their determination through song. You can DL the song for free here.

Lily Bee Performs “Senior Letter”

This is another song from Lily Bee‘s album Daydream at Midnight released just a little over a year ago. It’s called “Senior Letter” and resulted from a Sr Year assignment from her time in High School. True to her style, it’s a simple and charming watch of a simple and charming song. Check out the explanation in full below:

Filmed at Oxford Academy, my old high school. Class of 2005! (It feels like ages ago.)

Back in my senior year of high school, our English teacher Ms. Lutz had us write letters to ourselves, to be opened in 5 years. “I’ll mail it to you in five years,” she told us. I dismissed it as busy work, finished the assignment, and never thought about it again

Lo and behold, five years later (last year) when I was living in Maryland, the letter somehow found its way to me. I have no idea how.

Reading over my own words from 5 years back put me in a very reflective mood, which inspired this song. Here’s to growing up, living, learning, and staying true to yourself.

**The album version of the song says, “The view is clearer now from 22,” in the second verse because that’s how old I was when it was recorded.**

Sam Hart Sings About “One Leg”

Melancholy Sam is back with his new original called “One Leg”. It’s moody and dark and I think some of you may dig it, others not so much. But on a more unanimous note, it appears that an album is in the works and is “almost done”. Polished recordings by Sam Hart? That’s something I’m interested in hearing. We’ll keep you updated!

Kina Grannis to Perform “In Your Arms” on the Ellen Show

She isn’t the first of our stars to earn the opportunity to perform on the Ellen Show, but she’s certainly one of our favorites. As you can see from her tweets, Kina Grannis is stoked about learning she’s been booked on Monday’s taping of Ellen DeGeneres’s show, where she’ll be performing her latest single “In Your Arms“. I’m not exactly a daytime TV talkshow type of viewer, nor do I own a TiVo, so I may have to break out the trusty VCR and tape this one. Or Hulu… yea, we’ll do Hulu. Don’t miss out! We’ll do our best to get a clip up afterwards too.
