a-Tunes News: Our new Facebook page & Snapshot Section

Hope everyone had a great holiday weekend (for those of you in the States). Over the extended weekend we decided to implement a couple new features regarding the site. Although we are a little behind of the curve we have added another component to the social media puzzle and set up our official Facebook page (as evidenced by the new icon on the right sidebar). So if you’d like to connect with us that way, please make sure to “Like” us and spread the word!

Secondly, we’ve added a new feature called “Snapshot” (the first post precedes this one) where we takes pictures that we find of our favorite artists and share them with you in case you missed them. Think of it as a “scrapbook” of sorts.

Well that’s it! As always, thank you so much for your continued support everyone!

a-Tunes News: a-Tunes & GT Featured in HalfKorean.com

The great folks at halfkorean.com have done a feature interview on our humble little site and we just wanted to make sure you got the chance to check it out if you’re interested! The interview covers both a-Tunes itself along with information about me, the founder: Gifted Thought aka GT.

Please do check out the feature over at HalfKorean.com. Thank you so much to them and all the rest of our readers for your continued support!

a-Tunes News: Two Years and Counting…

It’s official y’all. We’re a toddler. Yesterday, the 5th of June marked two full years since this little site has launched and you know what? We couldn’t be prouder. For the most part, growth has been very steady as more and more viewers continue to visit us and we want to thank you all for your continued support. To sum it up, this post will mark the 1450th post and we are well over 200,000 total hits. These figures certainly aren’t astronomical but to put it into perspective, one year ago we were at the 46K mark!

Now, I’m not showing you this graph to toot our own horn but rather to drive the point across that more and more of you are increasing your awareness of talented Asian-American musicians. This means there has been more commenting, discussions, and sharing and the more people we have on board to support the movement, the better. As I said one year ago, I hope a day will come where true talent will speak for itself, and the most deserving of musicians will get recognized, regardless of ethnicity. When that time comes, a-Tunes will no longer have a purpose and won’t need to spotlight great artists because they’ll already be in it.

To commemorate our 2nd year of life, we’ve revamped the layout again, making this the 4th complete visual change up of the site. This layout is big and clean and we hope it’ll help with readability and overall user interaction. We’re continuing to make nips and tucks here and there but please feel free to leave comments on what is or isn’t working. Your feedback is always welcome! We’ve removed a couple features that weren’t being frequently used and added a bunch of useful touches all around. The most notable change (besides the new layout) is the moving of the links section from the sidebar into it’s own dedicated page.

In closing, I just wanted to shout out my fellow staff writer, Music4UrSoul, who has been a huge help in keeping this gig running. And most of all, once again we are so thankful for YOU, the reader, who pushes and inspires us to continue sharing with you the best in Asian-American talent.

Here’s to an even bigger year three!

a-Tunes News: Win Tickets To See the Wonder Girls & 2PM Live in Washington, DC!

Last month we reported that the Wonder Girls were going on tour all over the US. The first show of their tour is in Washington, DC at the Warner Theater on June 4th 2010. They are bringing along labelmates 2PM to the show and already the event is nearly sold out. But have no fear, a-Tunes has your back! Similar to our last contest, we are giving away one pair of tickets to one lucky winner provided they follow the instructions below.
