Just ‘Cause: I.aM.mE Present “I Want It All”

Dance videos are always a little tough to categorize as to whether they are completely appropriate for the scope of this site. But we figured, if we like it, why not? Moon & Chachi has a new choreo video set to Birdman x Wayne x Kevin Rudolf’s “I Want It All” along with a polar opposite and slower paced piece for a Frank Ocean cover by Emmalyn Estrada. The two songs are an interesting contrast – it’s almost like getting two dance clips for the price of one.

Just ‘Cause: The Sweetest Cover of “Superbass” EVER

This is such an odd but hypnotizing video. It’s kind of… contagiously sweet. A teenager by the name of Nicole who posts on Youtube with the user name of uuuuuuuukewithme, recently posted up this cover of Nicki Minaj’s Pop hit, “Superbass”. We’ve all seen it done in a cute way before… but never in such a rainbows, butterflies, and marshmallow clouds type of way like below. And this is even with the cursing in tact! The video has already racked up nearly a half million views as of this writing, and I can understand why.

PS, that’s the biggest smile I have ever seen.

Just ‘Cause: I.aM.mE Presents Choreo for “Jello” by Far East Movement

Di “Moon” Zhang, of I.aM.mE  put together some dope choreography set to “Jello” – the newest single from the Far East Movement. The clip ain’t too long; at just under a minute it’s actually kind of too short. That being said, it’s a pretty cool watch and we thought you all might enjoy it.

Just ‘Cause: Keone Madrid | PLAY

When I saw this clip by dance choreographer Keone Madrid, I knew I had to share it with you all. Question – What do you get when you add a fresh idea, famed dancer Keone Madrid, sharp  choreo, and a little bit of cinematic trickery? Answer – a pretty cool short film. This is reportedly the first of a three part series, and if this initial installment is any indication, we have a lot to look forward to. I’m not gonna lie, I’m kind of tempted to break out the sharpie myself right now.

Just ‘Cause: Kids React to K-Pop

I caught this over at Angry Asian Man, and I have to say it’s kind of hilarious. Some of the comments are a big ignorant but some of the kids are actually deceptively insightful. As K-Pop continues to make inroads into the US market and gain international fanfare, it’ll be interesting to see how they will fare with the rest of the uninitiated. With Se7en, BoA, the Wonder Girls, Girls Generation having already made the jump, and with more on the way, do you think they will be able to gain any traction. It’s tough to say based on this small sample group… but kids do say the darnedest, and occasionally most jacked up things. Here are some of the gems of quotes you can look forward to.

  • “They all look the same”
  • “It’s official, they’re copying Lady Gaga”
  • “They look kinda good”
  • “Who comes up with these names?”
  • “This is like Rebecca Black times ten!”

Just ‘Cause: The Jubilee Project Presents “Be the Change”

The great folks at the Jubilee Project always tends to put together great videos, focusing on amazing themes and causes. Their latest project puts some of our favorite artists and Youtube stars on the spot, asking them what is important to them and what they would like to see change and happen in this world. There is a ton of talent in this clip, and it encourages you to join the conversation – perhaps in the hope that once we talk about it, we just might be able to take the next step and do something about it.

For the new year, The Jubilee Project took some time to interview some YT friends about the changes that they would like to see in the world. We really believe that life is a gift and ordinary people can do extraordinary things. We hope that this video encourages you to live life to the fullest this year and be the change you want to see in the world.

Twitter us @jubileeproject with your responses #BetheChange – What is one thing you’d like to see changed in the world? What is one organization/cause you feel strongly about? What would you do if you had one last day to live?

Special thanks to BU CSA Takeout and all of the YT stars that took part in this video.

Just ‘Cause: Honey Cocaine Presents ‘The Sh*t Asian Parents Say’

Continuing the trend of viral videos in the ‘The Sh*t _____ Say”, rapper Honey Cocaine presents her take on the conversational habits of Asian Parents. It’s humorous at times, but drags on for a bit. And unfortunately, it doesn’t feature the polished editing and costume changes some of the other videos have, but perhaps some of you can relate.

Just ‘Cause: The Fung Bros Countdown Their Favorite Rap Lyrics About Asians

The Fung Brothers have a humorous vlog on some of the more notorious Asian themed lyrics to make it into Hip-Hop songs. Andrew & David count down their top 10 Asian references. It’s satirical in nature, so don’t take it too seriously but there are couple chuckle inducing moments to be seen. And as a little side note, for those unaware – the Fung Bros are rappers themselves, how about some Inglish & D-One anybody?

Just ‘Cause: B-Boy Solomon

Do you know who PK is? You should. One could say he’s just as influential as any artist in creating a stage and spotlight for many of the artists that we know and love. The comedian and former Kollaboration director is also the father to a young lad named Solomon, who seems to share his old man’s goofiness and penchant for entertainment. Check out Solomon’s moves… ABDC Season 21 needs to watch out – he’s gonna own the stage. Step Up 12-D, starring Solomon Kim. It’s coming.

Just ‘Cause: Dumbfoundead “Interviews” John Cho

OK, there’s really not much I can say here. This is just an awesome clip. If it’s staged, it’s silly and entertaining. If it’s genuine, then it’s sheer genius. Gotta love Dumb, always up to no good. Poor John Cho… Someone give Dumb his own reality show a la Ashton Kutcher. You’ve just been Dumb’d!
